Nice Campground

Nice campground with it’s own archery, pistol, and rifle range that you need to travel to, but not too far away. There are plenty of sites, the camp sites in the middle tend to be more like your normal site with grass and fire rings. The outside sites are mostly gravel with not every site having a fire ring. We ended up making our own with big rocks. They do have a small pond stocked with fish that has gazebo overlooking the pond. In addition, they have a pool, pool tables, and a play ground. You do have to pay to swim and play pool. The pool tables are a little torn up. We went the weekend it was Fall fest. Plenty of activities for the kids! Trick or treat, glow parade, decorate your own pumpkin, etc! Overall, nice campground and place to stay if you are looking for a spot.

Nice Remote Campsite

Very beautiful setting! With it being a remote location, it doesn’t seem like they spray for mosquitos. We bombed our campsite the first night, but still got ate up pretty bad even with spray and citronella candles. Pit toilets only, with some having bee/wasps nest in them. They do have a place to empty your grey water, but no black water tank. It seems like some people may have dumped their black tanks into the lake, by the smell and look of it. The water station was broken at our site so we had to travel to another location to get more. No service and no electric hookup.

I know it seems these are are all negative, but just a few things to keep in mind. It is very beautiful and peaceful. I would go back, maybe in the fall with cooler temps. The trees would look pretty and it’s nice since it is free and oftentimes has open spots.

Nice Family Owned Campground

Nice campground for family fun! Spent the weekend here with family and friends with little ones. They have nice spots lower down that are right by the river. They have a pool and playground. We like this spot since it is close to the Mohican river if you want to go tubing. Showers and bathroom were pretty decent.

Family Fun!

Fun campsite with lots to do! Provide activities for children such as crafts, scavenger hunt, etc. Also have adult crafts, corn-hole tournaments, and Yuker tournaments. Facilities have a laundromat, small game room, outdoor pool, and pond for swimming and fishing. Pond has large blow up slide. Creek runs along part of campground which is fun to play in! Spots are a little tight, but most have a lot of shade. Close to town/shopping if needed.

Family Friendly

Great campground with lots to do! RV sites are a little small and close together, but comes with a picnic table and fire pit. There are back in and pull through RV spots - along with nice shady spots for rent camping. Cabins are also available. Great spot to camp if interested in tubing/canoeing/kayaking down Mohican river. When you arrive everyone in the vehicle checks in, and then someone on a golf cart takes you to your spot. Campground has an indoor pool and hot tub. Also has pond with paddle boards and paddle boats that need to be reserved at additional cost. Quite a few playgrounds available and mountain bike trails. Small creek runs along the campground. All guests are given a wrist band that gives you a discount at the Trails End restaurant and at Mohican Adventures across the street.

Great Outdoor Fun!

Alum Creek is one of our favorite camping spots! The sites are spaced out or some are even a little more private depending on which site you choose. The restrooms/showers are always pretty clean. They do have activities for kids - none that we have participated in, but also offer a playground, horseshoes, and volleyball net. There are a few short trails and a small beach area at the campground. You are only a few miles away from the large beach. Also close to town/shopping if needed.
