Beautiful park right next to the ocean. Dogs loved it and no one complained about dogs being on the beach. Will definitely be returning. Bathrooms were not the worst but definitely not the best .
We love this place it has just enough waves that the little kids can jump them. But small enough that they don’t get pulled over by the waves. Absolutely love it Sandy beaches great campsites. Very clean
Tons of activities for kids to do. I still remember from when I was little kid having a great time and still have gone again as an adult. Clean and fun activities to keep kids busy.
Loved the activities to do for kids. Great place to just hang soft anweekend. Kids loved it .
Very nice and great things to do in the area. Water park is awesome!! Been going for years ! Lots of mountains to climb in the area. Bald mountain is my favorite with greAt views! Great little town to walk through and shop in.
Great place to hike, ride bikes, walk dogs.!water park looks awesome but didn’t go because I couldn’t leave my dog.
I have camped here many times and it is always great. sites good size, Great Lake swimming, fishing.
It is a wonderful place to have Kids. tons of things for them to do. we were in tent sites which felt bigger than most and were right by river. not far to go anywhere walking. porta potties were cleanest I have ever seen even with a ton of recent rain. lots of history nearby .
would love to stay here but I tent camp and there is no place for tents!! very sad
well I have a cot so I was good on the gravel area that they want you to put your tent on but the person I was camping with did not and they asked her to move to gravel. who tents on gravel when you have to sleep on the ground? not cool. showers also had no lip so water just got everywhere. views were ok but no place to jump in the beautiful lake for refreshment. went to go to splash park and no dogs aloud so no place for me and pup to cool off.
Pocahontas state park is great so far. Hike complete! Fire complete and set up done. Time for shower and bed.
Great state park. great park with pool and lots of hiking.. great areas to swim in the bay and look for fossils. people were really nice and bathrooms were really clean. I will definitely be going back there again for a longer stay.. we only stayed one night because it was supposed to rain.
This place has amazing hiking trails with great waterfalls. Campsite was clean and bathrooms were ok. Plenty of room on site.
This was a total surprise when we stayed at this site. We thought we were going to go to another park to camp but this one was so nice we ended up staying.. bathrooms were nice. Sites were really flat with some tree coverage for shade. Great water for older kids that can swim. Lots of hiking trails that were along the gorge with water scenic views. People that worked there were really nice.
We had never been to site before so when we booked, we thought we were next to a bathroom. Turns out you had to walk through woods to get there in the mud. Our entire campsite was flooded so we just set up our tent on my brothers site with them. Ended up being wonderful and the lake was beautiful. Bathrooms were regular campsite bathrooms. Never very clean. Especially because it was wet out.
If you want something for everyone, this is the place. There are 2 Great Lakes to hike around with awesome views. Fishing and boat rental if you want to be closer to the water. Beach for swimming with concession stand with quite a full menu. Beach also has a great playground for kids that is perfect for play and swim. Dogs are welcome. I have been there many times in the summer to walk and/or camp.
Great park with lots to do from hiking , biking, running, pool or canoes. everyone will having something to do in this area.
