We enjoyed a stay here in May.   Nice, quiet and peaceful.  Busy during the summer!

Boating and fishing rule here, but also places for hiking and just enjoying a fire by the lake.  

Typical camping cabin with rubber covered mattresses.  If we do it again and had room in the car, we'd bring an inexpensive memory foam pad to put under the sleeping bags.

Some cooking facilities and BBQ.  Nice little patio with chairs, looking over the lake.

We pulled in for one night as Harvest Hosts works. Enjoyed some good pizza and beer. Hospitable staff.
Site was a little up level but easy enough to level up.

It's been a couple of years since my first review and I wanted to share new perspective.  This time around we took our 9 year old grandson.  He loved the play structure and we had the convenience of backing in to a site that was near the kids area.  All went well till he fell out of a tree and broke his arm.  😂

Actually we enjoyed hikes to the beach, some whale watching and playing games when it rained.  We were there over New Years Eve. 

What surprised be is that the campground was FULL that week!  And, it wasn't at all offensive.  Still pretty quiet and great. 

One negative:  When rain came through some sites really flooded.  This site did at the front of the truck.  Not too badly, as we were still able to get into the truck.

We'll enjoy this campground again in the future.

I've driven by for years and recently had the opportunity to stop in between a couple of long travel days.  Site was level and surrounded by beautiful trees.  We had a nice walk through the campground.  It was not crowded, being a weekday in October.

I was amazed at the freeway noise.  Very loud.  Didn't really have trouble sleeping, but certainly not quitly peaceful, unfortunately.

Great heritage site!

Very nice hosts.  A very big open gravel lot along the Snake River.

2 restaurants on site.  As a Harvest Host stay they ask that you book through the Harvest Host app and support the business by purchasing a meal.  We had great pizza and some drinks.  Sat outside by the river on the pub's patio. 

Not a super flat and level lot, had bumps.  However we leveled up pretty easily.  

Between a couple of long travel days , this was an easy spot to pull in, have dinner and stay the night.

Actually scouted this out and found several possible sites.  Some looked pretty difficult to get in to with our 20ft truck and 28ft trailer.  We were able to get into this spot with the trailer bumper dragging just slightly.  It was an okay spot to park for the night.  Nice trees, paths to walk on and quiet.  

It's next to Hwy 90 (gravel rd) but even though there's traffic it's not TOO busy and definitely quiet at night.  

Easy access from Montrose, and good for an overnight.

After our water getting turned on in our trailer by mistake while driving, this site came as a relief.  It was just plain EASY.  Clean site, full hook ups.  It gave us an opportunity to dry things out, have full power etc.  They had a dog park.  Store, Fuel and food.

A plane flew in 100 yards from our site, the freeway was adjacent, trucks rumbling AND a train track!  Ha ha!  But honestly, it was easy to get a good nights sleep, even so.

We enjoyed a couple of nights here while visiting a couple places in Santa Fe.  The Casino was happy to have us park.  We enjoyed their prime rib one of the evenings.  Easy to level up.  Felt like a very safe place to boondock.

Water & Elec hookups and dump station on site.  We loved this spot.  The owner is very hospitable and following her dream of owning the park.  We enjoyed visiting.  When we checked in, she made sure we got into the best spot for our trailer.  Spaces were spacious with vegetation in between them. The park was clean with much attention paid to the aesthetic.  very charming! Walking trail around the park.  Convenient to all that Taos has to offer.  Will stay again!

Owners Wayne & Yolanda have created a space for camping with desert all around.  It was a great place to see the annular eclipse and , most importantly, a safe place to leave our trailer so we didn't have to take it on the rough road into Chaco Culture Heritage Site.  

There are no amenities and during the eclipse we were charged 40.00/nt.  However, the space was fairly level and the owners were lovely folks, very hospitable.  I'd definitely recommend utilizing their evolving campground while visiting Chaco.

Reservations for camping at the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta must be made in January.  You must check their website for the exact date.  Sites sell out within an hour!  Reservations are made online only.  This event takes place for 9 days beginning the first full weekend in October and running through the next Sunday.  It's a bucket list must see!

A bit of a challenge to get a camp site but SO worth it!  We dry camped on the South Lot in a "Box space".  This allowed us to back up to the big open field where we saw balloons landing if the winds were right and even some launching when the competition required they fly back to the Fiesta field.

If you love hot air balloons and have never been to this amazing Albuquerque event, camping on site is the way to go!

Needed a place with hookups before the ABQ Balloon Fiesta dry camping.  This served that purpose.  Clean sites and laundry facilities.  Freeway noise and sites right next to each other were the negatives.

However for a night it worked out just fine.

We dry camped for a very reasonable $10.  They do have hook ups but because we didn't use them she gave us the lower rate.

Looks like a busy family friendly place through the busy season, but was very quiet while we were there.  Had 2 large dog-park areas for dogs to run.  Unfortunately one had some sewage coming up in it.  I'm sure they've gotten that taken care of.

Site was level so we didn't have to un-hook.  They've worked to make this a fun spot.

I've. been visiting this area of Colorado since childhood so it has special meaning for me. We remember the area BEFORE there was a reservoir!  This campground doesn't disappoint!  Our site had a view of Courthouse Peak.  The area feels natural and sites are spaced out. We had water and electric.  There's a dump station on site.

We only had one night here, it was the last night of the season for our area and the next nights were full.

Popular campground likely requires advance reservations for peak season.

Our first retail parking lot boondocking.  It was just what we needed for a night in the Salt Lake City area.  We wanted to be able to get up early and get out of dodge before the traffic got crazy.  So, Cabela's it was.  Obviously had to shop!

The RV spaces on the north side of the building were full.  Very frustrating, because people pulled in and unhooked their trucks and parked them next to their trailers, thus taking up two spots each.

We pulled around the building and parked on the opposite side along a curb.  Bit of a slope to the curb, but easy enough to level up.

Bright lights (which is good for safety) and a fast food drive through in the strip mall next door.  So, we heard lots of "Welcome to….. What can we get started for you today?"  It was actually pretty funny and an adventure.  We truly appreciated the ability to stop here!

We've seen this campground from afar while traveling on I-84 through Oregon.  Decided to make it our first stopover on our fall road trip.

Peaceful campground on the Snake River and quiet in late September, mid-week.  Worked well for us.  Water & Electric allowed us to travel light our first day.  We'd stay again.

We thought we'd try this out with some friends.  Tucked our trailers up in the far corner with a commanding view of Mt. Hood!  Well, not much view the first smokey day, but it cleared up nicely after a wind shift the following day.  So much room it never felt crowded with other folks coming and going.

Paved, Pit toilets, garbage can.

Walking and hiking from here.  Road noice not bad!  We actually spent 3 nights and explored the area around Mt. Hood.  

Just a couple hours from home, an easy get away.

There's not much to add to all of the other reviews except that we were pleasantly surprised at how much we enjoyed being here for a few days.  We happened to get one of just a couple remaining sites mid-week in late June.  The park was full.  And yet there are so many places to explore and relax that we never felt too crowded.   This was our second trip out with our 8 year old grandson.  We didn't lack for activity, for sure!

We checked it all out!  The batteries, the Peter Iredale, the lake and the Jetty.  The only thing we might have enjoyed having were our bikes.  However with a dog, walking is better.

We loved it here!  No cell service and dry camping but so peaceful among the trees.  Jack Creek itself is stunning.  Like a fairyland with the nurse trees and the life growing out of them, crossing the river, creating clear pools.  We walked the easy hike up to the headwaters of Jack Creek .  Pretty neat to see it get it's start right out of the mountainside!  We enjoyed a sunny coolish day in early May. It was very interesting to take off and drive around the Jefferson Wilderness area.  2 large fires have been through here maybe 2 decades apart.  

We enjoyed noticing how the vegetation is returning very nicely.  We were afforded amazing views of the Cascade peaks, as a huge area was opened up by the past fires.   A very pleasant place to spend a couple of days.
