Quiet and clean

Pulled off the highway and yes the road is a bit rough but can be navigated with slow speed and caution. Drive about 1/2 mile to a small area with a fire ring. Level and clean.

Quiet getaway

Easy access off of the main highway. Well maintains access road with a few choppy areas. All vehicle will handle well. Both open areas as well as light wooded. Rock fire pit at all spots.

Gorgeous mountain views

Large grounds with 60 plus sites. Most fairly level using 1 or2 leveling blocks. Small creek runs through grounds. Experienced gusting winds exceeding 50mph. Over the night of our stay. Close to Alabama hills and movie road. Hiking for all abilities. Cost for the stay was $4.00. That was using “America the beautiful pass”. Pit toilets that were clean and maintained.

Great place

Sites are fairly level with plenty of space. The reservation board is a bit unorganized. Not totally aware of what sites are and are not occupied. The area and amenities are nice with flush toilets.

Barking dogs

Beautiful facility with spacious sites. A bit expensive for off season. Pay to use showers that had good hot water. The site adjacent to us looked like a homeless camp. Young couple with 2 forever barking dogs, obviously living there with amount of belongs strewn around.

Small but mighty

This forest service campground has only 5 sites but well worth the 8 mile drive on a paved road. Lake/Mountain View’s are picturesque. Be prepared to share your site with mule deer as they wonder through the grounds. Vault toilet is available.

Great spot

6 miles off of main road. Entire access road paved. Closed for the season on Sept 1 but open for dispersed.
