One of my favorite things about this campground is that your spots are close together which is great for safety, however with the bushes and brush, it feels super private. My grandparents were in the site next to me in their camper and I had to walk a ways to see their spot. It is also an amazing place to ride bikes, everything is flat and there are also plenty of bike paths. You are also close to the lake which I love. My only tip would be to bring plenty of bug spray in the summer, there are lots of bugs that come off the lake. Also make sure you bring jackets and blankets, even in the summer it can get pretty cool in the evening.
This is my all time favorite campground in Ohio. I live about three hours from here and I will often make a day trip to hike, however I love the campground here. The spots are shaded well. It is clean. The showers rarely have a wait, and are clean. There is also a pool and plenty or organized family activities here, including movie nights in an outdoor theater. The best part about this campground though is it's proximity to amazing hiking. You can just cut down the hill behind your campsite and soon find yourself on a hiking trail that leads to waterfalls and caves. There are enough hiking trails that you could easily spend a week and not do the same one. One of my favorite things to do is to take the long hike from one area to another. This trail isn't nearly as busy as some of the other ones tend to be. The only downside to this campground is that in the summer it fills up quick, so I would definitely recommend reservations. They have about fifteen spots that are first come first serve, but they can fill up pretty quickly as well if you aren't there early enough. I would check the site to see when spots are available before heading that way. It is easily worth the trouble of getting a spot here. One of my favorite campgrounds and my favorite hiking spot. Beautiful all year round.
My family and I love this campground and usually camp here a few times a year. There are always plenty of great spaces, we have never stayed at a spot that we didn't like. Spots are a good size and clean. The spots on the lake are our favorites, but are usually first to fill up. You won't be far from the lake wherever your spot is. The full hookup spots are in my opinion most crowded. I prefer the sites as you drive further into the park. Great for bike riding and lake activities. The land is flat and there are plenty of low traffic areas to ride. Boat rental fees are reasonable, you can travel to the marina for some boats but paddle boats and canoe rentals are within walking distance of your site. Some hiking is available also. The bathrooms are almost always clean and I have rarely had to wait for a shower. Pool is a decent size and discounted for campers. The camp store is usually well stocked with essentials that you don't want to go into town for, but town isn't so far away that it is impossible to get to anything. There is also a game room and a nice restroom in the lodge. Riding bikes here and hanging out on the edge of the lake is our favorite thing to do here though. They also have lots of organized activities for families.
