Did I mention bugs galore? Yes there were so many we ended up putting everything on the picnic table and slept in our Subaru. Down a dead end dirt road. We got there at night and needed some light, as soon as we turned on our flashlights, the bugs would fly everywhere (even in your nose). But in the morning, it was very nice and cool. The scenery was amazing and I loved the rock side walls. There was camping sites available even walk in sites. It is fairly small. Maybe 12 sites total but for $6 you can't beat a place to sleep. Would recommend if you're in a pinch and need a place to sleep.
Make sure to wear shoes lots of thorns out there. But you can't beat the sunsets because they were very beautiful. Stay in the sand as much as possible. Bring plenty of food and water. It's a free site. I saw lots of RVs and tent campers. I would stay here again. I loved that it was right off the freeway and you did not have to travel far to find a site.
Free!! Easy access roads. Literally right behind the airport. You can't miss it (unless you're driving too fast). Not noisy since there is little traffic at the airport. A lot of people use this with side-by-sides but people are very courteous. I saw a lot of people with RVs that camped out here but there are no hookups. Walmart is two stop lights away incase you need anything like ice. The London bridge is 7 mi down the way. I would not pass up this opportunity! Nights are amazing here.
Nice sites, long gravel road to get to. Next to the river. Has bathrooms but down the road a bit. Saw a few people with RV's. We just tent camped at the end of the road where it dead ended for the night and it was nice flat land. Highly recommend. Just very limited availability. I think about 6 sites total.
We arrived late on a Friday night and knew space was limited but there was nothing. Even in spaces where the signs said 2 sites available there was 4+tents and more cars. Drove the road for 45 min looking and finally pulled over to sleep in our car in a "no camping" zone. We were not bothered so that was great.
Absolutely beautiful. Paid $10 by check. There's plenty of sites. Has dispersed restrooms and a few water pumps. No showers. Has fire pits and picnic tables at each sites. There was at least 30 sites to choose from. Everyone was friendly and totally worth it. Didn't hear the highway noise much. Only a few loud cars every so seldomly.
