Nice state park and so much to see and do in the area. Burney Falls is gorgeous. The only thing I didn’t like was the dirt..lol. This area is made from diatomaceous earth and every step you take,a little poof of dust rises up. I must have washed my feet 2 dozen times in one day. If you have pets, be carefull if they come into your tent or RV, you’ll have dust everywhere.
When we need a free place to stay over on the southern Oregon coast, Redwood bar works. It can sometimes be a party place, especially on weekends but go during the week and you might have the place all to yourselves. Be care diving out on the gravel bar, have seen some big rigs get stuck. The water in the river is amazing and as clean as you can get.
This is a nice county park on the banks of the mighty Rogue River. Tent sites, RV sites and even a Yurt or two. Close to the town of Grants Pass for shopping or whatever yet quiet. The stars shine and you can even see the Milky Way at night. Fishing is grea on this stretch of the Rogue and a favorite spot towatch the white water races over Memorial Weekend.
I really love this small campground, especially this year when the lake is full. There's only 10-12 sites, bathrooms are clean. very quiet.
