Quiet, peaceful

No cell service, which is refreshing. The sound of the creek nearby is really soothing. Sites are well maintained and well organized, though a little close together. Sites 65 and 66 look like the best ones available, as they are up off the road a bit so they have a bit more privacy. The walk in sites (58-61) look nice too, but only if you are going with a group and book them all, as you have to walk through one of the sites to get to some of the other ones.

Bathrooms are clean, but only one shower (at least in Loop B). Also a tip- the sites are down the road from the Office, so I recommend arriving during daylight hours so you don't have a hard time finding them.

Clean and well maintained but smaller than expected

I really liked this campground. Everything was clean and very well maintained, and the sites were actually pretty large. But the campground itself was smaller than it looks on the map.

Bathrooms were clean and never had an issue with having to wait for one.

Amazing wildlife

They come right up to your tent so be prepared and make sure you use the food lockers to keep bears away. great location, great sites, good facilities. Easy to get into Estes Park and into RMNP. Site A22 was great!

Open, good sized sites, no trees so great for seeing the stars

There are no trees here so you can see the stars more easily; but keep in mind that means there isn't an easy way to hang a tarp if it rains so be prepared. Sites are far apart and pretty large. No cell service, vault toilets.

Quiet, off the beaten path

We happened to go in March, so there were no other campers when we were there which was great. They had firewood for us to buy and supplies onsite, and there is even a playground area for kids there which was nice. Bathrooms were very clean. Overall, I would recommend and would return!

Beautiful, quiet, and right on the water

By far my favorite place I've ever camped! Just steps off the beach from our campsite. The campground itself was pretty quiet considering how many other people were there. Plus there is a ton to do right by the campground in Virginia Beach, if you get bored.

Clean bathrooms, great location and good sized sites

Elk Neck had some of the cleanest bathrooms I've ever used, and the camp sites were a good size. I didn't feel like anyone was on top of me which was nice. Pretty quiet too, which is always a plus
