We stayed in the Green Valley campground over memorial Day Weekend. Although crowded being a Holiday, the spots were large and afforded plenty of privacy. We got three tents and two hammocks in our single space. The campground also has plenty of shade, clean facilities, and is dog friendly. There is a series of trails from the campground that make for fun day hikes. The lake is about ten minutes driving distance down the road.
This campground is an easy weekend getaway slot, just 1 hour away from San Diego. Sites and facilities are clean amd well maintained. The campground back up to the Pacific Crest Trail which makes for some cool hikes. All sites are also dog friendly, a plus for us. The only downside is that some sites are small and the campground can get crowded during summer season and holidays.
We visited Two Harbors in late April and stayed in the campground for 1 night. The views from our site were stunning. Stargazing was prime as well since there are virtually no lights in Two Harbors. The facilities include temporary toilets, running water, and showers .25 miles away back in to town. The campground offered easy access to the beach and delivered fire wood and water for a reasonable fee.
