Gorgeous in October

Beautiful drive in. Clean campground, flush toilets and friendly people around, lots of smiles as people pass by.

Nicest campground in middle Tennessee!

If you are lucky enough to snag a water spot it has hookups and views. I could come here annually it’s gorgeous and nicely shaded by the trees.

One of the only middle Tennessee options

Basic. Friendly guard house, water spots have hookups, others non electric. Paved to park with little picnic area. The state bird comes out in full force so be prepared (mosquitos). Spot 36 is steps from the bathroom if you like that close. See map. Surrounding area isn’t a super safe part of Nashville. I would hands down go to Poole Knobs Campground down the road if it has availability instead.

Treated like a guest at someone’s house

We found ourselves unexpectedly needing a new spot for the night and traveled on from Arkansas. Once we got to Memphis and saw just an hour and a half further we could stay here instead, we kept motivated. It was worth the extra time on the road, the owner was so sweet when we called late needing a spot. This RV park is treated like someone’s home and it has great hosts. They made us feel welcome. We were comfortable and safe, the facilities were all the nicest we have seen to date, clean and well taken care of. Would stay here again. Easy to get to off the road.

Peaceful on a Farm

Booked when we arrived. Easy to do online. I recommend doing it early if you know when you will be there. Mom& Pop run, good people. Clean bathrooms, laundry & showers. Two rooms each with a private locking door, shower, sink and toilet. Nice breeze at night. Right on Route 66.

Just what we needed

After an expectedly long drive this was the perfect stop. Place was clean and well maintained. Greeted by a friendly husband and wife running it. Cozy spot very safe and comfortable. Would stay again!

Peaceful

Book on Reserve America for New Mexico “Santa Rosa Lake” very pretty and peaceful. Not all streets were labeled but the directions worked to get us there just fine. Park for kids, gorgeous sunsets and the stars show off at night. Clean bathrooms. Had hookups.

Magical spot, Gorgeous

The trees against the rocks and blue sky is gorgeous every time you look up. Very cool campsites nestled into the raw nature. We loved it. Didn’t see any bears, used the bear locker and trash cans on site.

Wow!!! Gorgeous Views

My first time seeing Tulfas, couldn’t believe this beautiful lake we had all to ourselves. Lots of goose poop by the beach part but such is life. Beautiful everywhere we saw, we followed directions below they worked fantastic, there were only 2 pull out spots we found, we continued past them to a turnout that wasn’t for camping but was great to park while the baby napped and dad and older one followed the trial to the beach. A must stop so gorgeous.

Here are the coordinates of my screenshots where we entered following the super helpful directions below

37.94304° N, 119.10238° W

Beautiful & mellow vibe, clean bathrooms

We came in late and found a clipboard, picked our spot, lots were available, came in wrote our name and spot and paid the $8. Bathrooms were very clean. Views in the morning were gorgeous. Seemed like everyone we met there has been coming for years treasuring this gem. Great spot. Very close to Alabama hills dispersed which would have been difficult to navigate in the dark without disturbing others there. This campground was great!! When you drive in, spots on the left have a little creek.

Epic. Use these coordinates

The BLM page for Alabama Hills gives perfect directions the coordinates below took us out of town east.

Take Hwy 395 to Lone Pine. Turn west at the stoplight onto Whitney Portal Road, drive 2.5 miles to Movie Road, turn right. (Coordinates to that intersection are 36.59560° N, 118.10869° W)

There’s changes in 2022 more “day use only signs” at the front. Keep heading towards the back and it opens up.

Check the Alabama Hills page on the status of campfires they were not allowed when we went due to seasonal weather restrictions. And get your permit online if it is allowed. :)
