Near the beautiful big trees, large sites and beautiful sunset's off the back of the campground. Wonderful area to visit - nightly campfires in the summer and food etc. at Grant's Grove.
There are amenities and great restaurants but also a wonderful lake for kayaking, swimming and paddle boarding. It is a high mountain lake and can be cold but fishing is also good and the area around offers a ton of hiking - only 15 miles to Mammoth and backside of Yosemite's Devil's Postpile.
I grew up going to Dinkey Creek and to the Girl Scout Camp nearby. This campground is remote and secluded there are good swimming holes, fly fishing and really beautiful area. This area is unchanged over the last 20 years. Shaver Lake is nearby and further up the road is Huntington Lake - a real find.
You have access to Kings Canyon and Sequoia National Park, Hume Lake and other great areas. There is fishing as well as great fly fishing
Water is cold but you can paddle board, kayak or just fish. Very quiet and nice campsites.
You are camping in the woods and big trees you can either hike up to the waterfall or down to the Ocean. It is unequaled in this respect. Campsites are big and well tended to.
