Nice, but busy camp spot

The camp is around a gully on the north side of Pumice Butte with outstanding views of Mt St Helens and Mt Adams. Water was flowing at this camp when we passed in late July, but it was silty in the late afternoon and early evening, clear in the morning. There is a lovely site in the trees near the water, but more spots are scattered on the hillsides. The camp gets very crowded on peak summer weekends.

Nice campground with a pool and lake

We only spent one night in a tent area in our van. Many RV's appeared to be seasonal campers. We arrived late and left early, so did not use the amenities. The bathroom/shower room was large and clean. A downside was that the tent/grassy area was not flat. Worked okay for us, but would be an issue with a large tent.

Roadside Campground near Butte

Parked our van in a tent site, which was just a grassy area in the back half of the property. Road noise was not bad there, further from the highway. The host was friendly and helpful.  Enjoyed a warm shower.
