Family campground on Lake Mi

Family campground with beautiful Lake MI beach. Sites very close together with no privacy. Bathhouse clean;showers hot. Site 80 is listed as full shade but does get morning sun.

Winter Camping in Cedar Cabin

Great cabin for winter camping. Electricity, heat, microwave, mini fridge. 2 sets of bunks, sleeps 5. Table with chairs. Wonderful hiking.

Site 18

Beautiful lake view site. Steep drop to water so not good for those w/little kids. Great trees for hammock-overlooking lake! Pad level. Water very close. Outhouse close walk. Kayak launch close walk. Boat dock close. Shower house short walk

Site 107 non-electric

Very large non electric site near water. Quieter area of campground. Site level. Water close by. Pit toilets close.

Site 31

Site 31 is for those who want more privacy. It has woods on 2 sides with a trail thru woods to outhouse. Nice shade, site is level and on cul-de-sac so way less traffic. Water spigot very close. Very short walk to lake/dock and shower house. Park kept clean and very friendly staff.

Site 28

Site 28 unlevel. Requires several lifts. Site is very large however. Does have nice shade.

County Campground w/nice lake

Campground with nice no wake lake. Sites are fairly large although many of them with wide open area and thus little privacy. Site 31 nice site backed by woods. Could use a second dump station-only has one. Camp staff very friendly.

Nice county campground

County campground with good rates. Nice no wake lake for fishing, kayaking. 4 RV sites with lake view, 2-3 tent sites with view. A lot of sites in wide open areas with few trees and privacy. Fire pits need work-many sinking. Shower house adequate but nothing to rave about. In general area nice picnic pavilions and play area. Firewood and ice for sale. Could use more than a single dump station-I waited in line for 1.5 hours during the week. Site 16 during heavy rain becomes a river of mud. They give discounts for longer stays, veterans and county residents. Site 30 level and with shade tree. On cul-de-sac so less traffic. Backs up to pond.

Nice County owned campground

Camped here during week while listing house. Campground not busy and very quiet. Evergreen lake beautiful. Site 28 nicely shaded but not level.

Camper Cabin

Winter camped in camper cabin. Cabins with heat, electricity, mini fridge, microwave. Sleeps 7. Outside pit toilet. Very near lighthouse and Lake Michigan.

Wonderful campground in Sleeping Bear Dunes

Very nice campground on southern end of Sleeping Bear Dunes. Sites very large and spaced so there is privacy. Wooded with trees so beautiful in fall. Very nice bathrooms and private showers with hot water year round! Great hiking trails. Near Lake Michigan-approx 1.2 mile walk to huge beach. Very quiet although could hear some road noise from loop 1. Fire pits have cooking rack. Highly recommend!!

Family campground

Family oriented campground with 2 playgrounds-thus very noisy during day with kids. Brand new shower houses. Zero privacy between sites. Sites on small side. A long walk to the beach on Lake MI. Recommend driving or biking to beach. Beach very nice with nearby flush toilets. At nighttime, nearby highway noise which I dislike. Bring own fire rack for cooking-none provided.

Beautiful campground very close to Lake MI

Very nice campground on Lake MI. This campground has it all-wooded sites, sites in the full sun, Teepee, and large ADA cabin. Laundry, nice nature center. Couple of complaints: 1) bathrooms were cleaned/closed daily from 10 am—11:30- which is the strangest and busiest time for use. Very inconvenient. 2) Both DNR and camp hosts seemed to be over the top policing only 2 cars per site, had to park with at least 2 tires on the asphalt, and they even hassled us about a truck with a tent in the back they considered a “camping unit”-they only allowed 1 “unit” per campsite (we had a small pull behind). In 6 days, we experienced at least 4 visits complaining about a different thing each day. Due to this-4 stars instead of 5. Beach beautiful and sunrises over lake fantastic.

Camping in the dunes

This is one of two campgrounds in Muskegon State Park. All sites with full sun and no shade. Easy bike or car ride to beautiful beach and picnic area on Lake MI. Brand new bath houses. Alcohol is NOT allowed and is posted

Very nice campground with easy stair access to Lake MI

Beautiful campground with Lake Michigan beach accessible by stairs. Deck overlooking lake also. Beautiful beach. Very shaded campground. Shower facilities clean. Stayed in Mini cabin that sleeps 4 with 2 sets of bunk beds. Mini frig, microwave, lights, heat. Take your own fan for hot nights. Alcohol is not allowed

Nice family campground

Campground with easy walk to lake MI. Beach very nice and very clean. Lots of kids at campground thus noise level during day is high. Nice playground. Shower facilities very clean. Campsites very close together with little privacy. Make sure to visit nature center and learn about dunes. Campsites 2-37 get loads of foot traffic as that is the main route to beach. If u are looking for a quieter camping experience avoid those sites.

Winter Cabin Camping

Camped in Whitetail Cabin in February. Cabin sleeps 7; mini frig, microwave, ADA accessible. Outhouse. Very near Lake MI and overlooking channel and Big Red Lighthouse. Such beautiful sunsets. Went snowshoeing at nearby Pigeon Creek Park- beautiful! This county park has Lodge w/ food, rentals, fireplace and restrooms and mIles of cross county ski and snowshoeing trails and a Sledding hill. Gave slightly lower rating due to cabin not being as clean as I’d like. Frig. was unplugged and moldy.

Campground within walking distance to Lake MI beach

Stayed in Mini Cabin #16 over New Years. Hoped to try Luge at the adventure park but no snow and temps too warm prior to our trip. Cabin sleeps 4 in 2 bunk beds. Mini frig, microwave and table with chairs. Electricity and heat. Great choice for winter camping. Sites look really close together for summer camping. I did not like the road being so close for road noise. Kids swing set needs updated. Pit ADA toilet very clean. Phenomenal lake overlook and steps to beautiful beach.

Wilderness State Park

Visited in Fall. Camped in lake front site (419); the lake being right by the campsite was nice. However, very little privacy nor trees in this area. Wide open camping - more like RV park camping. Not at all what I had hoped. Fire pits do not have cooking rack so bring own. Beach for walking very nice with water level down. Drove to Piping Plover nesting area-that was beautiful. Seven very remote rustic cabins in beautiful areas. Some right on water. October 18th they close modern bathrooms and most water spigots, so have to get water at Camp office. 20 miles of hiking trails. Headlands Dark Sky Park well worth the short drive; a Beautiful area. Gave 3 stars due to “RV Park” like campground. Otherwise rest of park 4-5 stars. More trees in back campground (not near Lake MI).

Great campground

Really nice campground on the shore of Lake Shelbyville. Electric, showers, laundry, playground, nice beach, volleyball and some phenomenal sites right on shore. Well kept, sites with asphalt drive, fire pit and lantern hook.
