Nice spot next to the river. Most people were in campers, but we found a nice spot in the trees next to the river that was a little more private for our tent. Lots of street noise so we only stayed one night but quick access to telluride. Only one table in the middle of the parking lot.
Really beautiful and well maintained spots. The road is right behind you so it’s good for one night. Went swimming in the river and it was glorious :)
We looked for campsites too late for the July 4th weekend, and by some miracle we found a site available here. It was small and nestled in the middle of the site, but we were surrounded by bushes so we did have some privacy. Located on a reservoir, the scenery is beautiful, but many are there to put their boats in the water, and we escaped to other places during the day to not hear the boats all day. Marina area is separate. Toilets are clean and there is running water there. All in all, very nice site.
We arrived without a reservation (mid-week) and got one of the last available sites. The site was large and sloped down right to a stream that was simply gorgeous. The toilets were as clean as you can get in vault toilets and there was garbage disposal. We didn't see too many other people and the site was so large you could have a group of at least 4 or 5 tents there.
Super nice location right on the river. We picked this one because it was almost exactly in between Glenwood Springs and Eagle to explore both. Just 10 minutes off I-25, but you don't hear any traffic. Only complaint is that they allow cows to graze there and there are cow pies all over. And not many places to hang a hammock!
