Camping the Beaver

We've camped up Beaver Creek many times over the years and have enjoyed plenty of Dispersed Camping spots. Some are big enough for a group and some are small enough for a family. Great fishing spots for small brookies and plenty of backroads for ATVs.

Great Family Camping

Our boys were raised camping on this lake. Great fishing, boating, kayaking, camping, and crawfishing. The West boat ramp is closed which makes it a great spot to visit for a day on the docks to enjoy lunch and have the kiddos and dogs splash in the water and fish for crawfish in the rocks. Plenty of camp spots on both sides of the lake, but this year they made it pay and reserve in advance. Make sure to reserve before getting here because there is little to no service once at the reservoir. Check out the PI for a 🍔 burger in Parshall!

We ❤️ Saratoga

Saratoga is about 2 hours away from home for us, so it's a great getaway and we visit all year long. During the summers, we love camping on the lake and at $15/night for electrical hook-ups, it's a great deal for a weekend of fishing and fun on the water. The spots are clean and there is always a place open when we roll in. Make sure to visit the hot springs and have dinner at The Wolf Lodge or a beer and burger at Snowy Mountain Brewery. Headed back there next weekend for the beer festival and chili cook-off.

Miracle Mile Fishing

Plenty of camping, epic fishing, and tons of water! This camp spot is between 2 reservoirs and offers plenty of camping for RVs or tents right on the water with access to restrooms. Amazing fishing and floating opportunities. Make sure to get all of your shopping needs before heading out, because the closest marina for restocking is about 40 minutes away. There is no cell phone reception. But it's all 100% worth it if fishing is your thing… you'll soon learn why it's called The Miracle Mile.

Great Dispersed Camping Spot Near Steamboat Springs

Great camping spot near Elk Run River and surrounded by the Rockies. It's a pretty big spot with two sides, so there could be two camping spots or one big one. The drive does a loop where you can tell horse trailers have been pulled through, so there is plenty of room for a group. There's a nearby convenience store in Clark that has a liquor store, deli, and post office. We would love to return and visit the Glen Eden Lodge, too! I'm curious as to what is in Slavonia… I'm sure we'll take a look tomorrow. We did drive past the first spot and noticed a few other camping spots just off the road but turned around before going back too far.

Home Campground

Raising our boys in Hot Sulphur Springs right next to Pioneer Park, this camping spot is our home base. It's well maintained, you can float the river (but not through the canyon), great fishing, and the hot springs is walking distance. Beautiful camping spot in God's country. Absolutely worth the visit.
