On the way to Rushmore late in the evening, I drove by to see if there was any availability, and there was one tent site. National forest site so perfectly flat and level nice picnic table and close vault toilet. Lots of chipmunks running around. Beautiful view of the lake.

The forest is beautiful around the park. Lake is pretty too. Site we stayed at was nice and level for a yent, plenty of trees for a hammock

Nice creek running through. Pool. Appalachian trail runs right by it. About 20 minute drive to Gettysburg
