No longer a campsite

I called ahead and found they use to be harvest hosts and that is when they had campers. They no longer host but did allow me to sleep there for the night. Every friendly people and quiet location next to a muscadine vineyard. Nice enough to allow me to use their plumbed restroom as well (I'm in a tiny camper).

Worth $10 for primitive FCFS!

3 people, tiny camper, tent, dog. It has a table, grill and fire pit. 2 Vault toilets nearby. Spaced far enough to enjoy the space. Occasional road noise that died as the night came from mountain traffic. Lots of access to the MTN and trails. 25-30 min to the bottom @ Santa Fe. Stayed Sept 30 and Oct 1

BOOK A SITE! it was great

Big sites, had a tiny camper and tent. Plenty of room. Table and fire pit. Beautiful views! Showers, trails and a visitor center. Less than 30 min from white sands and Alamogordo. PRO-TIP go to Nenas ice cream and snack shop on Alamogordo and order mango creama with a scoop of ice cream. SUPER FRESH ingredients. Also Amigos Bakery has amazing baked goods and burritos.

Great park with view/amenities

They have anything you could want pretty much. It's expensive but if you want all the fixings in a popular area you gotta pay. We saw deer multiple nights, rabbits and a skunk 😅. We had 3 people, a dog, tiny camper and a tent and had a great time.

Quick overnight was decent

Multiple spots are available on the lake, and there are a couple in a grassy wooded area. They have picnic tables and fire pits already there. I stayed in the grassy wooded area and enjoyed the night. Road noise dies down around 8 or 9 and then you only hear occasional cars if you are awake… didn't bother me much. Had a dog and she had a good time.

Multiple Great Spots!

This road is a paved Forest road that leads to a boat ramp. There are multiple dispersed camping spots available along the way (closer to the bay mostly). There are a couple on the water and some in the woods close by. They have fire rings made by stones from previous campers. Just make sure you get a permit for the few that have the requirement. They have a sign once you get to that area by the boat ramp.
