Nonplussed

First, the office staff was stellar! Very friendly & helpful! The park & bath house are tidy & clean. Appreciate that dog poop bags are conveniently located, and wide grassy strips around the perimeter provide places for potty walks (unlike some RV parks where the only grass is at campsites). Great big kudos to other dog owners for cleaning up after their dogs, too! However, for the price, we were not impressed with the rest of the park. Only 2 showers in each restroom with a cramped, shared dressing space. We also were disappointed with the soaking pools, which were small for this size park. Even tho a huge grassy area at one end of the park could be a lovely off-lead dog area, sadly it is not, and dogs are not allowed off-lead anywhere. For those of us with active/young dogs, a safe place for them to RUN, jump, play, & expend energy after a travel day is hugely appreciated.

Beware the bathroom!

This campground looked wonderful on the surface. Parts of it is very well cared for & maintained, but a large area needs serious attention. Our site was in that area. The concrete pads were badly broken & uneven, garbage littered the whole area, one of the electric posts was broken, and the bathroom was one of the nastiest we've encountered in our 8 years of travel. Moldy; broken tiles, countertop, towel dispenser, & trim; caution tape over both shower stalls in the women's; and a healthy ant freeway running thru one of the stalls. This bathroom obviously has been in decay for several years.

Little Gem!

Lovely little campground! Campground host is fantastic! So accommodating & gracious. When we told her we were traveling with dogs, she put us in space 13 at the back of the loop. Nice large, quiet site surrounded by trees and a terrific grassy area. Very few other campers, so we were almost by ourselves for 3 days. The campground is clean and well maintained, as are the fairgrounds. A paved trail meanders thru for walking or bicycling, and town is less than 2 miles away.

Typical KOA

Staff here is wonderful…friendly & helpful. Campground is cleaner than most, showers & bathrooms also were clean. Big Goose Creek runs alongside the campground, and downtown Sheridan is just a few miles away. But it's expensive (almost $60 for water/electric only), the campground is between the freeway and train tracks, & RV spaces are stacked together like sardines. But sometimes a night at a KOA is necessary, and the welcoming staff makes it bearable.
