Raysville is a hidden gem at Clarks Hill Lake. this campground is much quieter and more secluded than the others in the area. they still offer decent bath houses with showers. the only negative in my mind is the lack of a swimming area for kids.
This park is fantastic if you are looking for views. The hike along the rim will take your breath away. The hike down the canyon is long and a bit strenuous, but at the bottom is a huge cave that can be explored a bit. Have help with you though, as the cave can be tricky to climb out of….and you will get muddy!
Vogel is a lot of fun for the family. They have boats/kayaks that you can rent. They also have a miniature golf course to play. the sites are all beautiful and most are well shaded. You are a very short 1/2 mile drive to a waterfall that is a fun walk in and is easy for small kids.
Sarah's Creek has some really nice designated sites that are clean and well taken care of. You can't beat the price of $10 per night! Local rivers and streams offer great trout fishing in the spring.
Winfield has a lot of really good sites, most with reasonable privacy. The campground isn't too large as to overwhelm you. they have several sites that work well as buddy sites too.
Mistletoe takes very good care of their sites. There are plenty of RV/tent sites to choose from as well as a few walk-in sites, a group site, and even a few back country sites. The facilities are always extremely clean. They also have laundry facilities available.
Clean camp sites. Abundance of wildlife. The out houses & vault toilets are in good shape. This park is always quiet and offers plenty of privacy
Very clean & several beaches to swim at
