This is a great local getaway! There are numerous sites that are on a small lake with great sunset views. Sites are decent size but not much privacy in between sites. Lots of wooded trails within the campground. Perfect if you have a boat and want access to the Chain of Lakes. Horse stables and guided rides for horse lovers.
The campground was small with only sites. There were only a few sites available to accommodate campers most were tent only. It was primitive with no electricity or showers available. Sites were secluded and wooded. A great bike trail starts right in the campground and goes for many miles. The famous New Glarus Brewery is right across the street. The old Swiss town is perfect for a weekend getaway.
This campground was wonderful! The campsites were huge. There were trees everywhere which were great for shade and hanging hammocks. Many of the sites were pull throughs which is nice for larger rvs. Several bluff hikes with large rock formations and lush greenery were nearby. The lodge offered a delicious all you can eat fried chicken family style dinner. Lakes nearby for fishing, kayaking & paddle boarding.
Campsites are spacious with many backed up to wooded areas. The campground is close to miles of gorgeous hiking trails. Bathrooms could use some updates. Close to August Hill Winery which is a nice afternoon stop.
