I can’t say enough about this place. It’s a pretty property, lots of clean and updated amenities. The pool area and clubhouse are amazing. Lots of events during the week plus holiday events. Their mission is to be family friendly and they are, they have activities for kids on the weekends and during holiday months. Very cute and well designed mini golf court. Cabins are available if you don’t have a camper. And the price is right.
Overall it’s a nice campground. Bathrooms are clean, trash cans available, spots include a table and fire ring and tent pad. Two down falls is how close some of the sites are too each other. It’s not the worst I’ve experienced but not one of the better ones. Also I understand the tent pad being different dirt. But the whole site had that gravel dusty dirt, which made for a mess, would have preferred if the rest of the site was the original dirt, would have been prettier and less messy. Depending how close you are to the lake, it’s not a far walk. Many sites you can see the lake. The lake as always is beautiful and not too crowded. We were there during the week but it’s still summer time when families are taking vacation. Drinking water is available and cellular service worked well.
Bathrooms: only one bathroom between both sides of the campground, depending how far you are down the road you might have a bit of a walk.
For trailers, there is no pull through spots or back in spots. You park on the side of the campsite. Which wasn’t that bad except we had another trailer next to us and it was pretty close, had there been another one to the left of us it would have been really tight.
Campsites over all are all a little different, some bigger than others, some with better a set up. But all had a fire ring, table, and lamp post, some had a tent pad.
It’s on the rim so it is pretty but it’s not as thick as other campsites moving towards Woods Canyon Lake.
This was our first camping trip with our new Camper. We’ve only ever camped tent, so I’ll be reviewing from a first time RV park user (maybe keep that in mind.) It was a small campground which was odd at first but after two nights I appreciated the smaller crowds. Campground is very pretty with a small creek running through it. It also sits along Oak Creek and you can pay for a spot by the creek if available. We had a spot next to the creek and it was definitely worth it. The spots that aren’t next to the creek aren’t bad (one however is right next to the dump) but you have to walk to the end of the campground if you want creek access without walking through someone’s site. The sites were a little smaller than we were expecting and unfortunately our site had two trees that allowed our camper to barely fit but we made it work. Overall we were happy and would definitely stay again.
Just a little south of Prescott, this campground is located in Prescott National Forest among the pines. Campsites are decent sizes and far apart from each other. Bathrooms are cleaned three times a week and it shows. Drinking water is available. No showers. Not much to do at the campground other than enjoy the views but it’s just ten minutes from downtown Prescott with things to do. There’s Goldwater Lake about 15 minutes down the road that’s good for fishing and kayaking. Overall nice clean campground.
Once again we were impressed by Lo Lo Mai. This time our tent site was literally right next to the creek. And it was a beautiful site surrounded by trees. Bathrooms and showers were clean (Atleast the woman’s were, my husband complained about the male showers being a bit dirty). The swimming pool and hot tub are also a big hit. We hit a few wineries around the area that were great. Only downside to Lo Lo Mai is they don’t provide drinking water spickets like most campgrounds do. And it’s a heavily used campground, but not surprising because it’s a beautiful and fun campground right next to the creek. Overall great stay once again.
Lo Lo Mai Springs is one of our new favorite campgrounds! There’s a hot tub and swimming pool, a creek to swim and fish in, nice bathrooms and showers, a dishwashing station. They have full hookups, tent spots, and cabins. The campground is beautiful with trees everywhere and most campgrounds are close to the creek. Just 15 minutes away from Sedona and Cottonwood, about 30 minutes away from Jerome! There’s 2 Vineyards down the road that we enjoyed… DA Ranch was absolutely beautiful and our favorite. Definitely recommend Lo Lo Mai!
Located in a canyon next to Burro Creek. The campground is first come first serve with about 30 spots. Multiple clean bathrooms and trash bins through out the camp. Not too far from the creek which you can hear running at night. Be prepared for rocky terrain to get to the creek. Pets allowed. About 12 miles south of the small town Wikieup where we went for dinner one night, but not much to do in town. Overall a nice desert campsite about a mile from the highway.
This is our first time actually camping at a campsite, usually we just camp in the Kaibab forest down the road for free. The campgrounds are surrounded by trees next to the lake. Although camp is not right next to the lake you can see it from most campsites. Sites are decent size and not too close to each other compared to other campgrounds. The lake is beautiful with fishing and a boat ramp available. No showers but there are many clean bathrooms and drinking water available. In the town of Williams there are many things to do such as the Deer Farm and Bearizona that we have done many times. Definitely one of my new favorite places to camp!
This a very beautiful spot off the highway, but far enough you can’t see or hear the traffic. Not too far out of Payson, about 15 minutes. Half of the campground is right next to the creek… only a hundred feet away! Water, bathrooms, and trash cans are provided… but no showers. So prepare to be dirty. Friendly and helpful staff. The campsites are pretty close together unfortunately, but they are one of the bigger campsites I’ve seen compared to other campgrounds. Staff and helpful and friendly and provide firewood for $7 a bundle. They do not sell ice though like some other campgrounds. Overall it’s not our favorite campground but it is nice and would recommend!
While working on the Woodbury Wildland Fire here in Arizona my Ambulance was staged at Oak Flat Campground. It was nothing but desert, a few picnic tables, with some trees with nice shade and two bathrooms. It’s probably the least nicest campground I’ve been to. Luckily we weren’t staying there for the night just parked there during the day. It appeared to be free, it was a decent distance off the main highway. If you’re just looking for a place to stop and rest for the night then it’s not a bad spot but I wouldn’t take my family there for a vacation.
Its a large KOA right off the highway. Nice facility, with bathrooms, showers, a store, and more. We’ve stayed here twice. Once in a tent and once in a cabin. They offer nicer cabins that’s almost it’s own little house with your own bathroom and kitchen. We stayed in a basic cabin with only beds and a heater. But it was enough for what we wanted. Camp sites are close to each other a long with the cabins. It’s a nice facility to stay at that’s on alternative to a hotel however you don’t get that camping feel with all the people being packed in one area. While staying here we visited our beloved Bearizona, and downtown Williams. Some of our favorite things to do in AZ. If you really want a camping feel, then I would not recommend however if you want a nice alternative to a hotel and to enjoy the outdoors this is your spot.
Other than being close to the highway, we love this campground. It is in a heavily wooded forest next to Oak Creek. It has multiple bathrooms and accessible drinking water. A decent distance from other campers and a large camping area. Staff is friendly, and close to all that Sedona, Arizona has to offer. Its only a few miles from Oak Creek Canyon’s West Fork trail where we hiked the 6 mile round trip trail, would recommend. There’s also a campsite a mile south that allows visitors to use their shower for only 4 dollars, which we utilized. Highly recommend this campground!
Apple Creek Cottages is a hidden gem in the heart of Prescott. You’re surrounded by trees with a creek right next to the cottages. The cottages are old, but were still cozy, with a full kitchen and “fire place.” We had a bonfire out back near the creek and enjoyed the rustic decor. In the morning we made breakfast and sat out back again enjoying the views. Not too pricey, our new place to go in Prescott.
So we didn’t actually stay at the campsite, we camped a few miles down the road from the campsite. We have done it multiple times and love it. You aren’t on a campground with multiple people and are only a few miles from bathrooms and the beautiful lake. Bathrooms aren’t overly nice, but better than nothing. Water is available at the lake. Decent fishing, plenty of crawdads to catch and eat during the summer months! They do have a boat ramp and we have brought our kayak before. Williams is a cute small town. One of our favorite places to camp!
It was a smaller KOA camp than most. But there were only a few people there in the middle of November, which made it nice for feeling “away” from the world and not having to wait for bathrooms. Any where that’s not inside is great, but it was more of a high desert terrain than woodlands like I was hoping, however that was my error for not looking into it more. They provide a small heater for the cabins, so if you go during the winter season be sure to bring warm clothes and warm blankets! Clean, and friendly facility, nice bathrooms.
