It’s a decent walk in (5 miles-ish). I highly recommend using/renting a canoe. The lakes are connected for the most part, may have to carry a canoe 50 feet to launch again, depending on water level. I went in July and about got carried away from mosquitoes. Bug dope didn’t even work. If I would of been on the water, it would of avoided the overgrown trails where the mosquitoes lay. However the campground location was fantastic, there is a camp site straight across the lake where I could hear people but not see them. There is a general store right before the turn to the wilderness entrance, so you can get last minute supplies, fishing license, and bait.
