“Rustic” with electricity. Vault toilets no campsites on the water, a little disappointed. But far less people than the other state campground on the other side of the lake. There is a picnic area on the water but says not a designated swimming area.
Short drive off the highway quite a few camping spots.
Nice people, very clean bathrooms, close to highway so there’s some road noise. Nature trail with off leash dog area, and a small dog park in the middle for off leash doggy play time.
Nice view of the lake. Clean showers and bathrooms. Train tracks on one side none have gone by in the 45min we’ve been here. More expensive than we wanted to pay but were tired of riding. Guy did say he gave us a deal since we were just staying one night. They charge per tent.
the campground is very nice and so are the campground hosts. its very close to 41 so you hear a lot of road noise (reason for my lower score). there are train tracks behind our site. we’ve only been here a few hours and havent had a train come by. it seems to be close to orv trails, lots of people here have sidexsides and quads. no one has been loud though. bathrooms are nice and clean and showers seem clean too (havent used them yet). no laundry here if youre looking for that. dogs are welcome.
Originally we reserved a space by the lake. But the people at the next site were taking up our space. So we moved to another. Which was fine with us as we were tent camping and it was pretty cold(40 degree range) and windy and being off the lake seemed better. The older couple that seemed to be the ones taking care of the place were very nice and understanding.
Very pretty and clean. The views of Lake Superior are amazing. Lots of really nice hiking trails, rookie hiker and his lady here. Did the 5 mile summit peak loop fairly easily. Bathrooms are nice, showers lack some water preasure Dogs allowed on leashes and not in buildings.
Campground east is pretty but a lot of the sites seem uneven. The fort is really interesting. Lots of mtn. bike / foot trails. Dog friendly campground and fort. Although dogs are not allowed in buildings. Showers are nice, great water preasure. Horseshoe bay is pretty, wouldnt take a low riding car there especially if it rained recently. Brockway mtn. drive is really pretty. get a really nice biew of all copper harbor.
