Awesome group sites entering Stampede Reservoir with close lake access. 4 total group paved sites in the loop with the ability for large groups at each. Large fire pits, multiple picnic tables, charcoal grills, and areas for tents. Water and bathrooms available for each site, though it’s Dry Camping. Host onsite with wood for purchase. Great area for kids to play without the traffic of normal campgrounds.
Only 3 hours from Reno, you can’t beat the June Lake area. Stayed in the Fish Loop with 8 other rigs. 10 minute walk to June Lake, general store, 10 minute drive to town, and 30 minutes to an hour to tons of other awesome alpine lakes, hot springs, and Mammoth. Had 3 water faucets per loop, cleans restrooms, fire pits, and picnic tables.
We always knockout a close preseason opener at a local site. GSR is pricey for what’s offered, though it does have full hookups. Only perk is the free pool passes as the grounds leave a lot to be desired. Only photos are us abusing the Lime Bikes!
Lake front sites, but stacked on top of each other. Plenty of goose crap to dodge and make sure to show up early! Not our favorite, but still doable.
Close to the lake with water, electric, and limited sewer hookups. Though right off the highway, traffic sounds aren’t too bad. Close to the cafe, ice cream, coffee, and bike shop, but can’t forget the 10 minute walk to the Beacon! Great getaway if you enjoy Tahoe!
Stayed in the Iron Ox loop and close to the water. We had 5 rigs in our group surrounded by other large groups and awesome people. Camp Host was awesome as always and easy access now that the dam is open.
