We loved this campground because it’s in the middle of nowhere and it was so peaceful. We stayed for a week during the kids’ spring break. Such a beautiful setting with nearly all the campsites on the water. There’s not interstates, trains, airports nearby so it’s truly a quiet getaway. There’s a new bathhouse that was nice and clean. Plenty to do with boats, kayaks, paddle boats to rent. The staff and Rangers were very accommodating and welcoming. Campsites were nicely shaded. Just so picturesque! Would love to come back!
Vogel State Park was beautiful! Even before all the leaves came out from the trees. The kids had loads of fun playing by the little rivers. Several hikes/trails ranging in difficulty to choose from. There is construction for the new visitor center so parking is limited. Overall, the campground is very well maintained and looks newly refurbished. Roads are smooth but narrow in some places. Definitely worth the drive!
Tallulah Gorge State Park has lots to offer. Hiking, waterfalls, beach, playground, fancy visitor center. The campground is more small rv friendly due to narrow roads. The campground is mostly shaded but no privacy between most sites. Bathrooms were kept clean and were in better conditions than other state parks we’ve visited. It was a nice perk that we had direct access to the hiking trails from the campground.
This was a really nice campground with great waterfront sites. Bathrooms were clean although not close to sites. Railroad tracks across the lake with about 17 trains per day if you don’t mind a train whistle.
Our family stayed over the Christmas/ New Year’s holidays and it was great. The restrooms were just built in 2019 and were VERY clean and kept clean. The camp hosts were really nice. Plenty of things to do at the park. Crawfordville was where they filmed “Sweet Home Alabama” and it was cool to drive around and see places from the movie. The small town has a quaint library off Main Street. Will definitely come back!
This campground is in the beautiful Nantahala Forest. A very scenic drive and quite remote. Most of the sites are double sites so you’re essentially sharing a campsite with your neighbor. I was nervous having a fire because it was so close to the camper next to us! Lots of hikes in the area and very peaceful because it’s so remote. We have Verizon and we barely had one bar which meant we could barely send a text. The bathrooms are so-so because they were only cleaned once. Two of the bathroom doors didn’t lock and no toilet paper in one for several days(even after notifying the host).
Enjoyable stay over Labor Day weekend. Enjoyed the hikes from the campground and clean bathrooms.
Victoria Bryant is a family favorite campground. There’s always activities on the weekends for the kids. Playground, beach volleyball court(the kids just like playing in the sand), and a creek where the kids can slide down the rocks. Has great hiking trails and is right next to the state park golf course. The majority of the sites are gravel, shaded, and level. I will say the bathrooms in the loop for campsites #20+ are much nicer than the bathhouse for #1-19.
Campground with beautiful lake views and beach. Site 6 was inundated with big carpenter ants that bite! Sites are level with a nice little distance between. The unkept bathrooms weren’t clean, stall locks were inoperable, showers broken with clogged drains. Only three restroom buildings for a campground with 100+ sites.
Our family really enjoyed this state park. It was nice getting to camp right on the water. Beware of fire ant hills, as our kids stepped in several nests around our site. Bathrooms are really nice.
