This was a cool spot. There are a mix of nice open campsites, and more intimate ones. Nice short walk to the beach where dogs are welcome.
This campground was gorgeous as advertised. It was a tad windy the first night, but died down soon enough. Located 1.5 mi from Zion NP “Subway Hike” trailhead. Strenuous but amazing hike. Even had a heard of Mule deer cruise through near our site.
My wife and our friends love this spot. As a matter of fact, we got engaged at nearby Jenks Lake and celebrated here after. No facilities, but if you have your supplies, it’s great. There are a couple loops and lots of spots. Enjoy.
My wife and I were going to camp here but she was a little spooked by the amount of bears we saw on the trail to the campsite. This area was also decimated by wild fire recently and a large percentage of the forest is charred. We ended up passing this site up, but it looks like it is a cool spot. FYI the areas surrounding this site are not too suitable if looking for a hotel. We ended up driving a considerable distance down to Sonoma and continued on our honeymoon with wine tasting.
My wife and I found this spot on our Honeymoon. Dispersed camping all along the trail, despite a sign saying no car camping. It was a 45 min (6 mile) trip up a dirt road but boy was it worth it. The trail continued toward a campsite, but we found a spot that we couldn’t pass up (see pics). We were above the marine layer and the stars were something else never seen before. Highly recommend. No campfires.
On our honeymoon, my wife and I stopped in Lassen Volcanic NP. We were blown away. So gorgeous. This was one of the only campgrounds open at the end of May. Most sites were filled on a Monday night. We did not have a reservation but I would recommend making one. The sites are right next to each other and there is not much seclusion. There is a pretty rigorous hike with a trailhead just down the road. We loved the park, and the campsite was good. FYI lots of pollen around this time. My white truck was yellow after the night. We were here in late may.
My wife and I stayed here before moving on to Lassen Volcanic NP. We stayed here on a Monday night (it was our honeymoon) so we were the only ones here. There was a really cool, fast flowing creek running through the campsite. Just a gorgeous spot in the forest with toilets if you need them.
My wife and I stopped here after visiting Crater Lake. This campground is right on the Rogue river and is absolutely gorgeous. The sites are well maintained, and there are toilets. The “Natural Bridge” is a short walk away and is really cool. Lots of informative signs along the path to describe what you are seeing.
