Family friendly, beautiful location

We went there with our 5 children from Sunday-Thursday in October. The location is mostly flat and surrounded with Redwoods. Shady and sunny locations; larger and small RV spots. No tent camping. It backs into Henry Cowell State Park and you can walk into it. The river was visible from our spot over a small fence (not accessible because of a 20-30 foot drop). Kids could ride bikes freely, heated pool (90 degrees), clean shower and restroom, plus laundry room. Staff is very friendly and Sant Cruz beaches are 15min away. Very quiet and peaceful during our stay.

Clean and nice amenities

We went for Labor day weekend during COVID. It was a CA heatwave weekend and there were pool restrictions minimizing the group sizes due to COVID. I felt like all day Saturday we were constantly going back and forth waiting in line since it was first come first serve only to be denied then putting our names on wait list. Others were putting all their friends in the list even when they weren't in line. That's my one complaint; they need to do the pool registration better so we aren't wasting a hot day running back and forth. We left to the coast Sunday. The place was clean, employees were nice and very family friendly.

Nice lake for family camping

We were there in July 2020 with a group with many children. We stayed at the full hookup spots H84,88 area. These spots were NOT good for little ones learning to walk. It was very uneven and rocky but spacious with trees and a view of the lake. We stayed Thursday to Sunday. Saturday is crazy at the boat launch— hundreds of boats. We hung out at the cove near us and the water temp was very pleasant. Water gets muddy…I wish it was clear for safety reasons, but we totally enjoyed it. Restrooms nearby were clean and spacious.
