This FR 100 area wasn’t our original destination for camping, but the weekend we went was so crowded we had to keep driving to finally find a spot. But our time in the woods was great perfect temperature, a little windy, but nothing but trees to hike through with the kids.
We chose Chevelon Lake to try and see a different side of the Arizona forests that we’re used to. The ground were nice but a bit rough on our minivan to get there. Our family took a nice hike to see the lake view. And had a good time in the woods. But we cut our trip short because our kids were covered in dirt, hot, and exhausted. I don’t think we’d return.
Went on a fishing trip to Knoll Lake with my brothers. The lake was great, plenty of space. Great weather in August. (We did have to take cover from a thunder storm, but it passed quickly). The campsite was great too, not crowded where we set up. Not another campsite in site.
