Beautiful spot in the woods with good amenities. Flat sites and easy in. Easy access to the beach.
Nice campground on the small side. Some of A loop backs up to the 540 highway, but it isn't super busy or noisy. Facilities are old and clean. Access to the beach would normally be really easy and we went earlier enough in the season, the trail under the highway was flooded so we had to walk along the highway instead.
Large campground with a ton of spots. Pretty open in some spots, so may feel more like an RV park. Great for groups and easy setup with minimal leveling needed. Easy walk to the beach with lots of trails.
Well maintained, primitive camping next to a lodge. Most campsites are right on the lake, which can cause cold nights later in the season but great views. Only pit toilets are available in the campground which are well maintained but definitely needed to be emptied. Campground has full access to all the lodge amenities including wifi, a market and restaurant, and flushing toilets. Sites are nice and big for groups to gather.
Quiet campground with spots built into the hills. Expect to hike to your site, even if labeled for a larger rig, with the climb being pretty steep (up or down a hill). Good facilities but they have a hard time keeping up with them on the weekends.
Small campground that is easy to setup for new campers like us. Level parking and nice large sites. Bathrooms are great and showers are private, separated rooms. Nice hike around the lake with the trail head right out of camp. Lighthouse is a walkable distance, but you are walking on the side of the road with hills and blind corners.
Nice secluded area close to the Carter Falls trailhead. Spots range from heavily wooded to out in the full sun. Our spot was better designed for tents with the parking a bit removed from the site, but it gave us more trees and a quieter experience. This spot does have shared parking with B15, so if two larger vehicles parked here it would be tight. We have a Mercedes Sprinter (170" WB) and were relieved we parked next to a small car. Site parking is rarely level, some with steep slopes to contend with.
