Lake James is one of North Carolina’s most desolate locations. Hike in, hide your food, and wait for the bear. Right on the water way, the picturesque scenery of the lake is beyond compare.

Stone Mountain state park is my all time favorite camping spots. We take our kids every year to their beautiful campground. There is so much to do; hike, swim, picnic. Cheap, and easily accessible Stone Mountain is a great weekend get away.
