We have been coming to this park for years with family and have always enjoyed it. First trip with our own RV.
We stayed the first week of January so the campground was quiet and not a ton of neighbors. They only keep one loop open during winter months.
Nice flat spot but tight for our 33ft travel trailer with one tree on patio side and truck barely fit in front. The yard in this site is nice and open for kids. Cool stone steps down to the lake.
We had water heater trouble so used the bathhouse for showers. They were clean and well maintained.
Overall we enjoyed it and already planning our next trip with family!
Site 57 was great. Small spot and was a bit cramped but overall very happy with it.
Big open water views and decent privacy. Park was easy to get to and had several playground and recreation areas that were clean and well maintained.
Site 57 had 30amp and water. Close proximity to bathhouse.
Wind was a big deal our first day. Temps dropped the weekend we camped and the wind coming off the lake made it much colder. Not a big deal but something to keep in mind for winter months.
Close enough to home that we may make this park a regular!
This was our first real trip since owning our travel trailer and this campground was a nice and easy first go. It was clean and easy to navigate. Site 80 was pretty flat and easy to get level with plenty of room. Site is right on the main road but that surprisingly didn’t bother us. Not on the water but water views. Pretty Georgia pines and mixed hardwoods provided great shade throughout the day.
We didn’t use the bathhouses but did peek inside the one on our loop and it was clean. The beach looked nice and was close to our site but got crowded on Saturday.
The dump station and dumpster isn’t the most convenient to get to when leaving but it was as clean as a dump station can be.
Our only real complaint was the ants. My lord were they prevalent. Woke up the first morning and found a line of ants up every stabilizer and the tongue jack. Remember, this was our first trip in a brand new TT so we didn’t have any open food or trash anywhere. My only guess is they were getting water. Went to the local Home Depot and got spray and that slowed them down but effectively trapped the ones already there and they began to come inside at that point. They were not fire ants so we were not getting bit but still very unpleasant. To be fair, my wife said at the front gate there was a sign advising to spray for ants, I just missed it.
Overall we were happy with the site and the campground. I’m sure we will visit again considering it’s a 10 minute drive from the house.
We have been camping at this SP for several years now and we always enjoy it.
Access to the beach, camp store, and grocery all within a short golf cart ride. It’s also convenient to all local attractions. Many dislike being next door to the airport but we enjoy watching the planes and our 1 year old daughter loves it. There is even a nice runway viewing area a short drive out of the park.
It gets a little crowded in the summer months as expected but the staff is always helpful and very friendly.
Tons of good and spacious sites for bigger rigs and decent privacy between sites. Haven’t used the bathhouses in a couple of years but they used to be well maintained and clean and I don’t imagine that would change. We like the convenience of the large laundry mat and it is also kept clean.
Already have our reservations for next year and can’t wait to be back!
