Patapsco State Park provides impressive solid food given its proximity to a major city. The campground has very minimal road noise and, at least mid-week, is quite quiet. I have heard that weekends can be loud here but I have not personally experienced.
Electric sites are generally too close to the bath house and very close to each other. The non-electric sites are spaced out nicely and provide privacy.
Most sites seemed level enough. Some leveling blocks were used.
Electric is 30 and 15 amp.
Very clean and quiet State Park. Most sites are level. Some are a bit too close to their neighbors. Honestly my only complaint. If you stay midweek, absolutely not an issue.
The loops with power tend to have more RVers. The loops without are mostly tents.
Each loop has a bath house with shower and a place to wash dishes.
Highly recommended, easy getaway. Crowded peak season, but shoulder seasons are often empty.
In the off-season, this park is quite empty. Great location for access to DC.
Can be hot and crowded in the summer.
Some highway noise to be expected. The park itself is quite clean.
Camping here is for youth groups only but there is a great playground for kids. Worth a visit for a picnic.
Other than the large group camping area, all of the sites are very small, not very level, and have low clearance. The camping area itself is quite secluded and quiet. Also very clean.
It's also quite difficult to reserve sites here as you have to call the county to get a permit.
Lots of lake front campsites, although most don't have views of the lake. Very clean and pretty campground. It's large and easy to get away from other people. Most sites appeared to be quite flat.
Big place, easy to find some solitude midweek. Crowded on weekends. Park is nice and clean
Stayed here midweek in the summer. Very happy I drove around first before reserving a site. Not all sites are flat and some are very hard to drive into. Many have very nice lake views, and some are totally private!
Stayed here in February. Was nice and quiet, especially the far away camp sites. All sites seemed pretty level. One note is that they only accept cash for payment.
