At the time of this review the rates were a bit expensive $24 a night, so deduct a star for price. Another star deducted for the feeble firewood stacks you can purchase for $6. Our stack contained 4 sad little logs with about 2 hours of max burn time if you know how to stack a fire well. 2nights with 2 sad stacks of firewood will sting you $60 which imo, is a bit expensive for camping. It’s a Decent site for those looking for a relatively close to Salem and fun water play weekend during the summer. Camp site stays a bit noisy until about midnight over the weekends so not recommended for those seeking a quieter more sedated experience or looking to go to sleep earlier in the evening. Sites are average in size and spaced average apart from one another. The more desirable lake facing sites reserve fast over the summer weekends but have good access into the lake. Camp site hosts are grumpy, but I’d guess 50% usually are. Drive in from Detroit takes about 15 minutes. Comparable sites on a short drive either side down the road. Positives are the running water restrooms, garbage disposal and other city camping commodities.
