I love Platte River State Park; there are accommodations for every type of camper - cabins, RV, privative - hell they even have teepees!
On top of the excellent camping offered, they have a wealth of amazing hiking / biking trails that traverse through some amazing scenery. Just like the camping, you can pick between the less intensive paved walkways or you can walk along the hilly bluffs that contour the Platte River.
Not a bad lake to camp at; offers decent fishing, decent kayaking, and a swim beach. You may run into lots of party-folk depending on when you come here.
Good cell service; on Sprint I can get 4G and Sprint sucks so you should be good in that regard. Can get some really pretty lakeside spots if you get there early!
I've camped here a few times, not a bad place depending on the season. Can get pretty busy, but not as busy as Bluestem down the road.
There are some fantastic trails to hike here, some great scenery, and good trout fishing from the stream.
You're able to camp as close to the stream as you're comfortable with, and there is nothing quite like waking up and enjoying a cup of fresh coffee while admiring the visual and auditory beauty of the rushing water.
There isn't much to this campground, but the pines and the drive itself (for me) is what makes it worthwhile.
I live in Lincoln, NE and make an annual (sometimes bi-annual) trek out here to decompress and soak-up the awe-inspiring rolling hills and scenery.
