Last minute stop over after a bad wreck on 75. Close and easy to navigate. Very nice and very clean facility. Staff was wonderful. All sites are pull through and easy to get in and out. Nice dog park. Very clean laundry facilities. Wish we had time to stay a few days. Definitely recommend.
The park is gorgeous and well maintained. It’s a little tight in a place or two but we’re pulling a 40’ fifth wheel and had no problems. We stayed in spot 71 which was a pull through with large lot that was really nice. Fire pit, picnic table and grill as well. I’m uploading a set of maps. You definitely need them as the sites are marked nicely but the areas are not and it’s very confusing. Also if you use maps on a device make sure you add campground because there are a few other places you don’t want to go pulling a rig since the campground is in a state park. Great for hiking, biking, fishing etc. Plain on zero internet or cell coverage. I’m all about the camping adventure but I like to be able to contact the kids if needed. Overall great place.
Staff was super nice and very helpful but they have way too many campers stuffed in here. We looked like Austin Powers trying to get into our pull through site. Site aren’t numbered but we were in the middle somewhere. Had to have neighbors to left and right and across the street move cars and patio furniture just so we could squeeze by. Only started for a couple days so we didn’t use the pool or anything.
Park is very nice and very well maintained. Super cool staff and sites are good sized. The restaurant on site is very good as well.
Beautiful grounds and super sweet staff. Sits by a camping world so if you need anything it’s here! Everyone was super friendly. Will come again. It’s near the highway so there is a little traffic noise but that doesn’t bother us.
I’d give this five stars if the sites were a little bigger. We had one hell of a time getting out in the morning. Wound up having to wake the guy next door up to move his car and had to back out of the spot because the smaller site across from ours had cars and trucks parked all along the drive. We’re barely squeezed between them and the rigs on our side.
Just stopped in for the night but they had a spot for us and they were very kind people. Little tight getting in and you really need to pay attention to the map. It’s a little confusing but we watched the site numbers and figured that out. They have a nice convenience store at check in. We did use the restrooms or showers but I hear they’re nice. The lake is beautiful. It’s quiet other than the occasional train whistles. The WiFi is pretty much non existent so don’t plan on that. Even with a booster we couldn’t pick it up. There is a small town close by with some great restaurants. Henry’s Louisiana grill is excellent.
This is a beautiful place but a little off the beaten path. About 30 minutes to the beach. There are a few bar/restaurants that are within 15-20 mins so just keep that in mind. The staff are super friendly and the sites are huge and everything is maintained at superior levels.
Staff was great as always however, the sites (in the back anyway) are way too small. Front canopy is over the next camper sanitation hose and hook up. See pics. And the neighbor in back can’t even open their canopy due to our slide out almost touching theirs. Only stopping over one night so it’s fine but I’d don’t think I could stay longer. Site 129
