Awesome Place!!!!

I did NOT want to leave!!! We came in late on a Friday. They waited for us, led us to our site and told us to call or text if we needed anything. The site was nice. Grassy, level, FH, spacious, shady. When registering they had a nice store with tshirts, sweatshirts, and last minute forgotten supplies. The workers and full timers are super nice and helpful!!! We cannot wait to come back!!!

Bad bad bad

My family of 9 visit eminence Missouri yearly to kayak the river and spend time together. This year we decided to stay at Apple Jacks 21 which is owned along with rivers edge. We booked our reservation far in advance and even called July 10th to confirm our stay and were told by the owner directly that we would be in cabin 2 and would have access to the following: 7 adult 2 kids 1 baby $200 per night for 3 nights 3 queen 2 twins 1 full pull out couch 2 full bath 1 hot tub Free pet stay 3 sandbar 2 slip n slid Petting zoo Restaurant & bar Fire pit Ice cream/ smores/ Popsicles Fun activities for kids. 2 playgrounds

When we arrived, we were told that our cabin was given away to a different family and that they could give us cabin 3 which is smaller. We were unhappy with this, but we agreed to try to stick it out. We got to the cabin and it was too small for our family. It had 2 bedrooms, one bathroom. And one outside public bathroom that was apparently for all of the campers so we had to listen to random campers using the bathroom connected to our cabin all night. The hot tub was completely drained of water and broken. We did not have any wifi, the sandbar was extremely tiny. The workers actually had to take a futon from cabin 4 and bring it into our cabin in the middle of the living room Floor just so we could all fit in it. There wasn’t any slip n slides or any fun activities for my 6 year old niece. She didn’t get to enjoy the entire trip. The petting zoo was just horses. They said they had dog boarding and that was nowhere to be seen. The fire pit didn’t work and the propane was not even hooked up. The restaurant only had one meal and were only open 2-3 hours each day. The bar had 3 bottles of liquor. On the second night, we woke up to the smell of sewer and water draining all over the bathrooms and bedroom. My parents had to step through the water to get out of bed. We called maintenance and they came over to look and said the sewer lines were backed up. Being frustrated, my family and I came to talk to them and Erma got mad and said she was going to call the cops because my brother walked into the office with us even though there was my mom and sister and I in the office already and she didn’t have a problem with that. It’s actually quite pathetic that she already expected our complaints because I’m sure it happens so frequently. I’m sure even if she did call the cops they know she’s full of it because they didn’t show. We will not be staying the 3rd night and we are telling everyone single person not to stay here!! Didn’t even have a fire extinguisher either. We were told by several locals in the area that Erma is not liked by other businesses. We were promised a discount after the first night but Erma was so mad and childish that she wouldn’t even speak to us or even take the key from us. She sent some grown shirtless man to listen to us and he did nothing but stand there and say he wanted to fight my brother. Which is pretty unprofessional for a business. It’s literally impossible to have a civil conversation with her because she tries to start something and then uses it as an excuse to try to just send people away. They all know how terrible it is. They are just chasing money. She charged us for the 3rd night which we didn’t even stay. Biggest fraudulent business in the eminence area. Erma should be ashamed of herself and never have access to a business. Listen to the reviews and locals, they’ll tell you all you need to know about Apple Jacks 21..

Great, super clean

Ozark Farms Family Campground was great!!! Easy to get into, flat gravel pad, with picnic table, fire pit and full hookups. We had the larger 50 amp site #3. We did not use the shower house but it looked nice and clean. The bounce house was a huge hit for my 7 year old. I was surprised to learn the owner also has 2 beautiful air BnB's that our friends will use next time we come. Definately one of our favorite trips!!!!

Worst camping experience in 37 years

I had a pretty awful expereince with Apple Jacks 21 this weekend. I wanted to share to maybe help others get more clarification when booking. I had a lot of upset and disappointed friends that drove a long way for this. 12 people total.

I know this resort is new and just coming along. I understand that. But there are quite a few issues that concern me and should have been addressed before allowing bookings.

The owner did not reply when asking for confirmation via Facebook messenger, which is how I booked but she did look at and ignore my message. We decided to go anyway. After all, we had 12 people in our group and I can't let people down. She did not want payment before our arrival.

When we got here we had to go search for someone to figure out where to go, which is precisely why I tried to confirm the day before. Took 3 phone calls before we got the owner to answer and we were told to go down to the bar and find some man. The man had no idea what we were to do or where we should go. Again we waited while he called her several times. We were exhausted from a long trip and just wanted to get setup and rest.

After finally getting settled the owner drove by and said she would come back after supper (for payment I'm guessing) but never did. We still hadn't paid by night 2. And then night 3.

When asking where our friends would park their RV it was again an hour long process to figure it out. We also figured we should attempt to find out which cabin is for our other group since it's so hard to find anyone here that knows what is going on.

Our friend finally got in the RV site the electric hookup had an open ground. The wire was literally sticking out of the post box for my kids or anyone to get seriously injured. They also just wanted to get settled and rest so we ran an extension cord from our post since no one is to be found and no one answers their phone, again. Finally the worker man called back and came and said he couldn't help us due to a warranty on the work but gave us an extension cord.

The cabin, no one knew what was going on either. We finally found out later on and went and checked it out. There were other people's items inside. But noticed maybe it was 2 parts because there was a door in the middle. So they carried their stuff to the other side where it was pretty filthy. Hair in the sinks from someone shaving, a sink full of dishes, filthy refrigerator, filthy bathrooms etc. Then the worker man comes flying in aggressively asking who is in cabin 1 and I said I had no idea what cabin is which so he showed us we weren't supposed to walk through cabin 1 (again, no signs or numbers). Nothing is marked here. Then they have no key to lock up the door to the outside or the door to the "grandsons" that apparently live on the other side (cabin 1??). The "grandsons" can just come into my friends cabin anytime they want as there is no lock between the cabins. We were also told that the cabin was "right across the street" from our RV sites. It's was a 1 mile drive because they removed the driveway between them (didn't inform us of this). Our friends in the cabin have mobility issues and that is the reason being close was so important. It was a truck ride away. Definitely

Again, I tried to drive up to River's Edge to pay for my site (that's what the worker man said to do) and no one knows the pricing. She wanted me to leave my credit card there and she would charge me later. Not happening. I left all my info, she was supposed to get a total and call me to pay by phone but that never happened either.

On Sunday, the owne came flying in after seeing my comments to someone else having issues about this place being a disaster and was nice at first until I wanted to tell her my issues. She snapped and didn't want to hear any of it. She also asked me for a pen to write down my credit card number. It's 2021 and they write down credit card numbers? The owner stated that I had booked 3 cabins and she had to turn people away Friday night and they sat empty because of me. That is false. I read a reveiw that she turned them away due to plumbing problems. I have screenshots of booking 1 cabin and 1 RV site and later adding another rv site. I also have screenshots of asking for confirmation of 1 cabin and 2 rv sites. Finally in such a mean but sweet way she told me this wasn't the place for me and we weren't welcome back so we packed up and left.

After we left and got on the road someone else called me about payment. I told her I already paid the owner. She said the owner told her to call me about payment. Apparently, this woman texted me a bill but I didn't get it until we left due to phone service issues. The bill didn't even show the total. But the woman was kind and understanding that I didn't get her text. Then 2 hours later my card was charged $653 when it was supposed to be $580. What a disaster.

All in all I think I lost 6 hours just trying to figure out what is going on here.

This was supposed to be my birthday trip. What a fiasco.

Luckily, my credi card company refunded me since none of the amenities she advertised were there.

It used to be so beautiful

Sadly, it is closed for now. But it hlwas so quiet and peaceful.

Huge lake, nice camping

Camped here in a tent. Loved it. Raccoons are really brave and ate not afraid of humans. They know how to rip open a tent for food. Nothing is safe here. But a beautiful lake and campground.

Loved camping here

I camped here in a tent before we had an rv. The primitive sites were perfectly quiet and away from others. Toilet was close and so was parking. I kind of miss tent camping!!!

Home!!!

We have a permanent lake lot here. The marina is small and basic. Actually everything is basic here but it's still great to have 10 minutes from home.

Had a blast

Lover this place right on the speedway!!! Can't wait to go back!!!!

Great 1st campground expereince

I was nervous to camp here due to the bad reveiws about the owner yelling at people and calling the police. We just got a new 40ft 5th wheel and we had never taken our previous camper to a campground. We're pretty much newbies. Check in was ok. They kept radioing the front desk worker changing the spot she was to put us in. When we got to our spot it was blocked. I had to call about 7 or 8 times to get anyone to answer to find out what to do. I was so worried the owner was going to come and get angry. Someone finally answered, the owner came over and was very friendly. We got parked and settled. It rained a lot while we were here and of course our stairs landed right in a mud puddle but it was mostly well drained and clear water on the gravel. The gravel could be a bit thicker but it was decent. The shower house was clean bit cold. Heater was set to 55. I'm sure not many use the shower house this time of year. We had a lot of dirty towel from cleaning our dogs paws so much so we wanted to wash a load of towels. It took over 3 hours to dry out towels. Eek. But so far so good.

Our Home Away From Home

It's not anything fancy but it has the basics.
