It would have been a good site for a tent but we are traveling with a roof tent. Our site was a bit uneven with no way to level it. Otherwise the site was good. The area is popular so it was a bit crowded but not overly noisy for the number of people. There is access to the river for a cooling dip. Bring bug spray.
Fantastic quiet, shady, private campsite. Bathrooms were spotless. Didn’t use the pay showers but I didn’t notice someone had left quarters in case you needed some. Short hike and you are at Mill Creek for a cooling wade. There is also a small camp store with wood, ice and other amenities. We even had a very friendly doe come for a visit. We will be back.
Very close to park entrance. Tent sites are small and gravel. However the hosts are friendly, there are showers, clean bathrooms, good wifi, and you can use the resort pool. Great place to relax after a long day of hiking in Yosemite.
This is one of my wife's fav wilderness spots. Great views. Great sights. Gorgeous evening skies. Close to the north entrance to Crater Lake National Park. It can be a little tricky to find off the forest road but worth the search. Only drawback was that it is a fairly popular spot.
As others have said, this is great if you want to spend time at Smith Rock, especially if the Bivy is closed or full. Campsites are large. For me it was pretty quiet except for the howl of the coyotes in the hills, as the campground wasn't overly full. Toilets' could be better maintained.
During the day it was busy as it is a key location for 1/2 day rafting trips on the Klamath. We weren't rafting but did enjoy the cool water. Didn't seem to be much in the way of activity to do if you weren't rafting. Trails in the area were very short. In the evening it cooled off and got nice and quiet. Sites were large. Hosts were friendly. Toilets were cleaned daily and not overly odorous. Great access to the i5 if you are travelling. The site we were on had limited shade.
