The only reason I did not give this a Five Star Rating was that the site we stayed at was a little small#7. Even with a 25-foot camper, I could not let me awning out fully and we felt almost on top of camper when we sat outside near the fire pit. Otherwise, this place is breathtaking. There are some other sites we marked down and will try to reserve next time because we will definitely be back. So please do not let my comment fool or discourage you at all, this place is amazing and a must visit.
The staff was friendly; and the sound of the creek was just what this old soul needed as I celebrated my 50th birthday here. My wife and son made it memorable. Brody caught his first trout, it is a catch and release creek. We had pineapple upside down pancakes, ate fruity pebbles by the creek, visited to Mt. Mitchell, wife saw tons of Cardinals, was visited by the duck (you just have to be here to understand) basically we just had a wonderful 4-day mid-week.
Till next time…….
We found this place one weekend by chance, have stayed twice now and love it. Wonderful family owned place, who also work do most of the work there and are very helpful. Our 12 year old son loves the pool and being able to ride his electric bike around the campground. The host does a great job lining up activities including Kona Ice for the campers on Saturday's.
We have already booked Labor Day 2022 and I am sure we will be adding many more 3-4 day weekends in the future.
