I took a canoe trip down the buffalo river a few springs ago and I believe this was one of my stops. It was still early in the season so restroom facilities weren’t open yet. Bare bones camp sites with only fire pit rings. Beautiful area!
This park has two campgrounds. The modern side on the north end of the park with full hookups, and the primitive side on the south side of the park with no electricity or water hookups. Both campgrounds have flushing toilets but only the modern side has showers. All restroom facilities are very well kept. Beautiful park with lots to do! Only thing keeping me from giving it 5 stars is how busy both campgrounds get on weekends and holidays giving you little to no privacy since sites are pretty close together.
Very beautiful and scenic campground not to far from town. Reservations and checking in was a little confusing, and no showers here but those are the only downsides I could think of. Enough space between campsites to make it feel private. Lots of trails and hiking surrounding the campground as well as a large lake.
Overall great campground! Beautiful scenery and well kept. Tent sites had plenty of room on them and lots of privacy. Small walk to your site from where you park but that makes it feel a lot more wild and secluded. They provide a lock box to store food in due to bears in the area. Restroom and shower facility by where you park and those are very nice and well kept to! Plenty outdoor activities to do in the surrounding areas.
To start, site was double booked upon arrival but was quickly resolved by the owner. Other than that pretty good campground. Kinda close to the highway so you hear cars all night but a spring fed creek running behind the campsite downs out some of the noise. Despite the highway beautiful scenery! Campsites were pretty close to each other so not much privacy. Bathrooms and showers were nothing to rave about, but at least they had them! Decent campground overall, not the place for someone seeking more wilderness though.
This campground had spacious sites with several different sections suited towards camper trailers and tents. I stayed in the outback in my tent and had no neighbors so that was great! With a general store, laundry, and very clean bathrooms and showers there isn’t much you would need to leave for. Only reason I didn’t give it a 5 star is because I was told check out time was 2pm when it was actually earlier than that and I missed it by maybe 30 mins. An older employee came by and was a prick about it threatening to charge me another $32 for barely missing the time even though there was no rush to leave with no one coming in behind me.
