Nice scenery

Pros: Trails Mount Magazine close by Dogs allowed Sites on the bluff Deer Sunset and Sunrise points Burn what you find

Cons: One shower stall in restroom Sites layout is weird and close together Pack of dogs roams at night

I would recommend calling ahead and seeing if you can get the site on the Bluff it looked beautiful. You can burn what you find around the site so that's awesome. There is a pack of dogs that came through at night. So be sure to put up your trash and food at night. Especially since bears could be around.

Mount magazine is an hour away. They do have some less strenuous trails. I think it is worth going to and checking out. The trails in Nebo are a little rough. The map says easy… I think that is if you are an expert hiker. lol. There were some steep points and going down various rock trails. We had 5 dogs and 7 people and we were all struggling a tad. Also the trails do have short cuts but they will be steep. If you go down the mountain then you will have to go back up.

On the way to mount magazine there is a store ran by Mennonites. It's worth a stop to check out. They have fresh eggs and wood for sale. They also have various mats and general grocery items.

Lake view site!!

This was a little park but still worth the drive. It has really nice bathrooms towards the front. Like the best I have ever seen before!! The camp site we chose was right on the lake and it had a dock as well for fishing. The trails we're cool too nicely wooded. If you go on the longer trail check in at the front first before and after you get back. That way they know you made it safely back. What I did not realize was that there is a gun range close by… That did freak my dogs out a bit. So I would go back but maybe chose a different site. Oh and it is good bass fishing. One of our friends caught about 8 decent sized ones.

nice place close to Dallas

Some of the camp sites are close together. The trails are good but there are some steep spots and it is rocky too. They do have a cool Beach area but you cant bring your dogs to it. Which I understand but still sucks. Overall a nice place. The park rangers are frequently out to ensure everything is in order. There is a grill on the fireplace but not a stand alone one.

Great Place

This was a nice campground. We had a tent site on the bluff. The trails we're good and there was plenty of shade at the sites. I would recommend bringing a citronella candle there were a lot of bugs at night. it could have also been because we went in August.
