Quiet and clean

Nice open area to play games. We played frisbee and enjoyed the area. The water is really close and the camp sites didn't seem to be too crowded but it was a slow time when we were there. There aren't a lot of camping options in that area so this had to do. Definitely prefer more remote locations.

Good shaded campsites

Great place to take our kayaks out and stay for a quick night. The campsites are nice and shady!

Too much geese poop

This is a nice area to maybe stop and have a short picnic. I wouldn't recommend camping as it gets crowded and there is so much geese poop all over in the grassy area that you just can't feel relaxed. The designated swimming area doesn't look too clean so we opted to not go for a swim in that area.

Easy hike for snow shoeing!

I love going to Tumalo falls state park and taking friends as well. It is an easy hike in the summer and winter (if you want to snow shoe). There is also the option for making the hikes much more difficult as there are trails to go around the waterfall and up to explore more. I would suggest getting there really early if you want a parking spot. It fills up quickly!

Gorgeous Waterfall

Sure was hot when we visited the falls. Camping at the falls is not really a good option as the sites are right in the middle of where all of the people visiting for the day go through. I would suggest camping nearby (maybe near the snake river). There are not clear signs as to where to hike for trails to get you to the bottom of the falls. Some of the hiking is pretty scary as there are no barriers if you were to fall. Definitely worth the visit though!

Great little getaway

Love going to cultus lake with friends. It gets pretty busy at times so if you want a good camping spot then you need to go before the weekend starts. I will let you in on a little secret that Little cultus lake is quite amazing for camping and taking the kayaks out as well. It isn't far from the main cultus lake and it is less busy and better for kayaks!

Favorite place in Oregon

I grew up near Wallowa Lake and I still go up to camp every year! Such a beautiful lake with not an overwhelming amount of people. The campsites are nice and it is generally full of friendly people.
