Spot outside Scottsdale

A little busy, but nice little area with hiking trails near by. Easy spot to get to that is right outside of the Scottsdale area.

Easy spot

Easy spot in an area where there isn’t much around. If you follow the road in enough the train isn’t bothersome. Fun rocks around, quiet and not many other campers.

Quiet, beautiful view.

Great spot to split up our drive. Super easy access and road in, the coordinates take you to one spot, but there is multiple here. It’s not far off the road but far enough to be peaceful and quiet! Amazing view of Mt. Graham!

Beautiful clean spot

Stopped here prior to visiting the petrified forest. What a clean, quiet, gem. The lake was frozen over which made for tons of fun for us throwing rocks and listening to the ripple. I’d say there is at least 10 spots. Port-o-potty there and trash so please continue to keep this clean free site just that way!

Right outside South Gate

Great dispersed sites. Probably at least 15 or so sites. Most have fire pits and plenty of space. Nothing extra special other than the fact that it’s free camping not even 5 minutes from the South Gate of Grand Canyon NP.

Interesting

It was a place to stay because it was getting late but…I don’t see us going back. The town is very interesting and run down, but if you get past that. The campsite are fine with a fire pit there. We were completely alone so it was nice and quiet. Paved road in, and canyons surrounding.

Views never disappoint

Beautiful views of the bells, we woke up for the sunrise and made it there with all the photographers. A must see!!

Nice family camping

This place has all the necessities and so many extra curricular activities for kids. Playground, beach volleyball, tetherball, frisbees golf, basketball hoop and outdoor laser tag which was SO FUN for my son. Showers and bathrooms. I heard a few people with larger rigs that weren’t fans of “ all the trees” but I thought it’s was wonderfully shaded!

So fun

Wild “little” sand dunes on what seems to be the side of the highway. Had a blast biking through and taking a toboggan down the dunes. Windy at times so be aware when eating outside or storing anything out there. Beautiful sunset and grills and shelter/picnic tables at the sites too.

Wonderful spot for biking, climbing, and star gazing

Wow! We loved it here! Stayed for 3 nights at a nice private spot. 4X4 highly recommended…I think even needed. Not big rig friendly for sure, which makes it even better 🤷🏼‍♀️ each site has a fire ring, bring your own firewood though as there is a no gathering rule and nothing around anyways! We had a blast taking our bikes around and loved exploring the rock formations as well. Definitely one of our favorite spots this far! Oh, and if you love the night sky, it will not disappoint!

Great views, tons of cows

This dispersed area has I’d say about 40 sites, each have a fire pit so that’s great. We were at 29 and had a large pull through site on top of a hill. The views are stunning, views of mount crested butte and Gothic mt. Cows are EVERYWHERE not mean, but they do come right into your site and have no issue leaving you patties in the morning! All in all we really enjoyed the changing leaves and fresh air here!

Easy roadside camping

Nothing spectacular, quite a few spots along the road and a nice view of winterpark down below. We only stopped for a night, it was a Friday so fairly busy.

Amazing views!

This is one of my favorite spots. It does seem very popular on the weekends but slower during the week. A lot of quads having fun out there too. Not only are the Mountain View’s stunning, but we also saw Bald Eagles and a moose.

Nice campground off hwy

Nice clean campground right off the highway yet little traffic noise. About 40 min from Denver with tons of hikes nearby. Quarter showers, bathrooms and even a dish pit. They have rv spots and tent spots

Excellent site, tough road

This camp site was BEAUTIFUL! The road up has tons of ruts, some a hit deep so I would not come with any tow behind. Nice little creek and a couple fire pits already there made for the perfect night

Great spot

Nice dispersed camping spot. There are a few along the road, we went just passed the Tigawon community house and found a great spot with a view, and fire pit!

Great park!

We stayed here for a total of 4 days and loved it! Bike paths were plentiful, a lake to swim in. They also had paddle board rentals for a good price, which we did and had a blast! Playground at the campground was perfect for my son as well! It’s now on our list of favorites!
