Not sure if this goes here- but a camper was found dead here on sept 11 being eaten by a bear. I would use caution in this area
Ended up here after a failed Hipcamp experience. This park was fine- lots of bugs that looked like large mosquitoes but weren’t. Pretty annoying. Definitely pricy ($40/car) for what you get. But it was a safe spot for the night and did the job.
We were passing through town, and and all campgrounds in the area were packed out…on a Thursday. The actual lakes dispersed camping were full too, so we ended up parking on the side of the road going up to the lakes. It was a bit freaky just because it felt so isolating. I’m sure it would be fun if you’re fully prepared for bear prevention and enjoy that kind of isolation.
Loved this site. We got to town late, and left early. The shower facilities felt very clean and the park felt really natural- for it being so close to Denver.
If you get there early, grab a water view spot. We got there later and couldn’t. This campground is great because there are so many spaces. Great location too.
Maybe it was because I had spent days BLM camping- but Morefield seemed like a dream. Loved the atmosphere and amazing nights rest. The campsite offers decent privacy and great shower system with a general store. One of my favorite NP’s as well.
Loved this campsite. Perfect weather and even better views. Great for traveling through Yellowstone. Good facilities too! Only thing that could be annoying is a bit of noise from the highway but it was quiet from 12-5am.
Ended up here after hours of searching for a campsite. We’re car camping so we prefer a pretty view, but it isn’t necessary. This place ended up being our IDEAL spot. Smelly toilet- no showers or running water. But great fire pits and wonderful neighbors. Loved it here. Great for night photography!
