adequate stopping spot

we showed up after dark with no reservation. it’s pretty much a giant gravel parking lot with designated camping spots (that you can’t see in the dark and i think i ended up camping rogue style). great views though. millions of stars at night and mountains to look at in the morning. courthouse rock is visible, also. very bare bones, but super quiet and stunning landscapes.

nice off season spot

The campground is your basic national park campground. No showers. There are grates on the fire pits that make it easy for cooking food. The area itself is outstanding. Ferns everywhere and the trees are large and spectacular. It’s only a short drive to Rialto Beach and just a nice low key spot to chill. I do hear it gets busy during the summer months.
