Pristine and peaceful

What a gem! We were there for a one night mid-week stay, and it was so quiet and calm because ~70% of the spots are taken by seasonal guests who are primarily at the campgrounds on the weekends. Right on Lake Imogene, there is a boat dock and a sandy swimming beach (which we had entirely to ourselves!). The grounds are well-maintained and very clean. There are three playgrounds (one at the swimming beach), a mini golf course, and an actual phone booth. The owners live on site and are very kind and accommodating. We got a late checkout for an additional $10, allowing us to really take advantage of this amazing spot. Highly recommended.

AMAZING

Truly one of my very favorites. Right on the Missouri, with a swimming beach that’s perfect. Spacious spots. Close to the 90. You can stay until 2:00 for an extra $10. Zero downsides.

Gorgeous, convenient

We needed a one night stay after exploring the Mammoth Site and Mt Rushmore in a day and were lucky to find this campground. It is incredibly close to Mount Rushmore (and Crazy Horse). We were in a spot with zero shade, and it was VERY hot by breakfast, so recommend an awning or canopy if you have one!

Gorgeous & convenient location, but hwy is loud

This campsite is pristine, next to a beautiful river, mountains all around. There is a good amount of space between RV campsites, all of which have water and electric. There is a big field next to the river that was great for kids to run around in. This feels like more of a stop through campsite than one you’d stay for several days, and it’s perfect for that.

Best view of Carhenge

This isn’t the kind of spot you’d stay at long term, but if you want to see Carhenge, it’s the best option. We pulled up at night, and it was dark and difficult to manage — but made worth it by the awesome post -apocalyptic view by headlight of the car sculptures up the hill from Carhenge.

In terms of making your arrangements, the owner is accommodating and kind on the phone. There is a kiosk close to the entrance with envelopes for leaving payment by cash or check. (Also, Dyrt cards with 3 month free pro trials!)

Definitely recommend this stay, just know it’s no frills.

Good for a stopover

This was a great spot for a one night stay; if we fished, it would be even better for a longer stay.

Pros: incredibly nice and accommodating staff, very clean, great seating on RV spots, lots of seating next to the river and by playground, good playground, extra toys for kids near playground

Cons: not a lot of space between RV spots, all gravel (but they laid down about 10’ of astroturf on each RV spot), river is more for fishing than anything else

Great spot for a stop

Pros: super clean, good pull through spots, good Boise water, wonderful saline pool, close to a good Winco

Con: barely made the cut to stay at the “resort.” I was asked to first email pictures of all 4 sides of my RV so that management could approve the vehicle for the one-night stay, as they needed to “keep out the $10,000 RVs” because the “$3-4 million RVs” won’t want to stay next to those. Thankfully, the extra $500 spent purchasing ours seemed to help us make the cut 🙄

Excellent option

Right in the center of Ft Wayne, IN is Johnny Appleseed Park and its accompanying campground. For $24, we got a day of drive in spot with electrical + water hook-ups and wifi. The campground is well-maintained and very clean. There is not a lot of space between the sites, but it’s still plentiful. I noticed a laundry option next to the public restrooms, but did not check it out further.
