Been having a tough time finding a good spot with cell service so I can work. Quartzsite is so great Nice and quiet, private and strong cell service. Plus gorgeous night skies. I love it here
14 day stay limit. Staging area for ATVs, so very busy on weekends and holidays. Lots of noise during those times. During the week mostly empty and super quiet. Clean with access to a bathroom that is stocked and cleaned regularly. Dirt road access but most vehicles will be fine. Verizon cell service, but only 1-2 bars. There is a hill with benches so you can look out of the desert valley which is really peaceful
All along Plomosa road there are turn offs you can park in. It's pretty rocky, so go slow, but I managed to find a semi private spot nestled behind some trees. Mostly quiet, though occasionally heard coyotes. Only 6 miles from town, mostly gas stations and RV campsites, but there was some cool little shops across from the Pilot gas station. Pretty dark night sky, especially considering how close it is to town.
Free. Wide open space, an abandoned air strip. Really cool cactus variations all around, you can hear coyotes. And there are wild burros in the area you can def hear them and during the week it's likely you will see them! It is popular for ATVs and such, so it can get a bit noisy, and it apparently gets pretty packed over the weekend. But empty during the week. About 30 minutes away from town. Though there are a few paid campsites in the area. Not sure what the stay limit is, probably 14 days. All the cacti so close is a bit hazardous for pets and small children, my dog already got spines in her paws.
