This campground feels very secluded in the woods. You have many spots to choose from right on the lake or further into the woods. They have a few outhouses, picnic tables, large fire pits and ours even had a clothes line. That's about all the accommodations you will find. We had a great time here. We found a spot with our own little beach front and got to watch the fireflies at night. The only problem we had were the mosquito's! Bring your bug spray!
This is one of our favorite spots to camp. It is located directly on Lake Superior and the Gratiot River is on the other side of the road. There are a few camp sites which is why I can't give this place a five star rating. If you are lucky enough to get a spot here you will not be disappointed with your stay. I encourage anyone to bring their own wood. This place gets busy and wood around the sites are extremely picked over. On the plus side, these sites are spaced nicely apart so you won't be around other people and you have a good amount of privacy. We love that we are able to watch the sunset on the lake at night and rock pick in the morning. This place is special.
We stayed at Caribou the first night of our trip. This little island has a large leantou for everyone to hunker down in and a outhouse. It should be noted that this island is one of the only spots that you can build a fire.
