Used to be Tremont campground but under new ownership.

Expensive but worth it. The owners are going all out with this campground. Tiny homes, glamping tents, and cabins for rent. Then there are on river and off river RV sites. The on river rv sites have a gazebo over the picnic table. Great facilities that are only being made better.

It is right before the entrance to the Smoky Mountain National Park. Townsend is called the peaceful side of the Smoky Mountains.

Good facilities but be ready to do a lot to level up.

Pretty nice but there are a lot of sites in the B loop that aren't even close to being level. If you go across the lake, there's a better campground called Chester Frost Park.

Could be best campground if they built more bath houses.

I LOVED the campground but only gave it 2 stars because of the lousy bath house situation.

Why I loved the campground is because it's beautiful. Probably one of the best sites I've ever been on. Level, clean, concrete pads, perfect. There are tent sites right on the lake. Some of the tent campers brought their boats and parked them right next to their site.

Then you have to go to the bathroom or need to take a shower. They have 2 bath houses. One is in the area of the day use people so it's always in use. The 2nd one was 1000 steps, per fitbit, there and back from our site. When you get there, there's only one toilet and one urinal for the men and 2 toilets for the women. Only one shower in each bath house. We're talking over 60 sites total so if there are 4 people per site, that 240 people for 2 bath houses.

No Glamping allowed.

Beautiful campground, surrounded by nature. The most predominate sound is the river that runs the entire length of the campground. This is our favorite campground in the Smoky Mountains.

A county park that rivals state or national parks.

Every spot is either on the water or close. I don't care if you want to kayak, fish or powerboat, this is the place for you. Great sites, very good facilities (bath houses, showers and laundry for the campground). There are great tent only sites as well as camper sites. There is an area for day use that has swimming area, boat ramp, picnic and playground.

This was the 2nd time this year we camped here. First time was in January and it was very cold. I added a picture of our remodeled camper. See how beautiful the sites are. The wind off the lake was killer. End of March, early April was beautiful.

We were there for the March Blue Moon. I added a picture of that.
