Great campground!

I have never been here before but were looking for a last minute place on Labor Day weekend and they happened to have a spot available. I am so glad they did! This is such a nice campground with so much to do. The sites are spacious, well maintained and clean. The facilities were all modern and clean as well as the beach area. This particular weekend they had guided hikes, movie night for the kids and an ice cream social. There was also a presentation for the kids showing all the animals and birds of the park. We are going back again in a few weeks with the dog.

Amazing location with one big negative.

This is a 5 star campground. It is clean, in a great location, staff is amazing and so on. There was only one issue we had with it and it is probably something that can’t be fixed but it is a big issue for us. TICKS! Ticks are everywhere! They are in the trees, tall grass and even in the sand. Out dog had no less than 8 on her in the 3 days we were there and she was even sprayed with tick repellant. They were in our hair as well. Besides the ticks everywhere, we LOVED this place and actually want to come back. Next time without the dog so she does not have to deal with that again. Amazing beaches and views everywhere. Stunningly beautiful park.

We loved it!

Well maintained, sites are spacious, lots to do in the park, clean bathrooms and friendly staff. We will be back for sure!

Amazing place!

I can’t say enough good things about this place. Beautiful trails, waterfalls and views. This is our favorite place to take a hike with the dog and she loves it too!

Meh.

It could be an ok place if you get the right spot. Some of the sites are VERY SLOPED and some people parked campers in those spots and used very odd things to try and level them. The sites are not maintained well and have lots of weeds and some are very close and are essentially sharing the space with the fire ring and picnic table with other campers. Not very private at all. If you have awnings or slides, you will have to be careful about what site you will get or you will not be able to open the slides or your awning. If you get a good spot or are tent camping then it may be ok.

Not a terrible place

We stayed in the primitive area and it was just ok. Only a port o potty was available in that area but you could walk to a different area for restrooms and showers. I think if you paid for a seasonal site, your experience would be much better as you would be close to the amenities and have views of the nice lake.

Clean and close to Cleveland

This is our favorite local campground. It is close to the city and the park has nice trails and many things to do. The campground is very well maintained and the most of the sites are spacious. Would recommend to anyone.

A nice place to camp that is close to the Lake Erie islands.

It is a nice campground. The sites can be a bit close together but it is well maintained for the most part. We were there in April and they have some new bathroom and laundry facilities that were really nice. They were new and clean and there was even one that was a whole private bathroom with a toilet, sink, shower and a bench. The laundry facilities were clean and they had a nice sink and counter to do dishes as well. This is a great location that is close to the ferries that go to Put-In-Bay and the other Lake Erie Islands and there is also a lot do do in the area without having to go to the islands.

Nice state park that is fairly close to Cleveland.

This is a pretty nice campground. There are quite a few trails and a lake with a beach for swimming. It can get fairly crowded if you are here with a trailer that requires electrical hookups since there are only so many sites available with electric but if you do not require electricity, you can get spaces away from the people and have a nice bit of privacy. The park itself is kept clean and if you avoid the bathrooms in the busiest area then those are pretty clean as well. We will be back for sure.
