Peaceful, nice site.

We stayed at site 29 in the middle of June. Site 29 is on the peninsula, near the end. It is caddy corner from the beach swimming area and very close walking distance. You cannot see the site from the beach area or vice versa. The sites are close together, but not necessarily on top of one another. You are on the water, but there it is a cliff at the edge of water, but can be climbed with rope if careful. The parking pad was level and there was water and multi service electric. The bathrooms and showers were a bit of a walk, but they were clean and cared for.

Beautiful Scenery and Friendly Staff

We really enjoyed our text stay at Ragland Bottom campground. Even with it being a holiday weekend, the bathrooms were incredibly clean and the site did not feel crowded. We stayed at tent only site 22 and it had power and water. The gravel was on the coarser side and the pad was a bit rocky, but I was able to stale our tent out with a 2lb mini sledge. I did not like that the fire rings were located outside the tent pads, but they did have rock surrounds and a grill. The site also had a charcoal grill and wood railing along one side which came in handy for hanging towels and such to dry. Plenty of shade and the views were very nice.

Great Lake Camping, but watch out for poison ivy.

Just got back from camping at Payne Campground for the weekend. It is in a quite cove on Lake Allatoona. Second time camping here. Camped on 03/04 double campsite. My buddy brought his camper and we were in a tent. We did use the shower facility, and it was in pretty good condition. My buddy said the asphalt was not level and he had a hard time leveling his rig. It was near the water, and we were able to beach his boat there. The fire ring was nice and had a flip top grill. Overall fun spot, just watch out for all the poison ivy surrounding the site if you camp in this spot…
